“Victor, ID's best kept secret...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

My best friend was getting married at a ranch in a Victor, ID and stumbled upon Lone Elk Lodge as I was trying to tie up our travel accommodations for the event. I wasn't impressed with the other B&Bs in the area via the Internet and instantly was attracted to Lone Elk Lodge due to all the positive reviews. I was able to secure one of the last rooms for the weekend and we were so happy we did!
Barbara was a great hostess! The house is beautiful and the scenery just added to it! Lone Elk Lodge is tucked away on Teton Springs Golf Club (which my husband enjoyed playing on twice during the weekend) and was literally a mile away from the wedding venue (Linn Canyon Ranch). One MUST stay here if ever attending a wedding at that particular venue. Everything from the bed linens to the bathroom towels were AMAZING. Barb cooks up a mean breakfast and we never left the house hungry. We had activities going on all weekend but if one ever needed suggestions on things to see and do in the Teton Valley, Barb would have happily pointed you in the right direction. Barb pretty much gave us free reign over the entire house.
You MUST stay here when visiting this area. The house would be perfect to accommodate a large family or a group of friends. I know we will be returning to Lone Elk Lodge in the future. We were not disappointed and neither will you!

My husband and I were on our way to Yellowstone Park and I found this gem on-line and it was everything that we wanted and more. The location was awesome in the Teton Valley and the home overlooked the golf course. It was so peaceful and quiet, which is a nice change from the nomal hustle and bustle of the city. There was so much one could do at the house such as just sit and relax, golf, bike, watch movies in the theater room and play pool and more. The room was so nice, we didn't have to leave if you didn't want to. It had everything you could ever want, fireplace, comfortable bedding, large flatscreen television, private balcony, walk in closet, sauna and jacuzzi. Steve also told us how inexpensive a game of golf was. The location was centrally located between Driggs and Victor. Although it is a small town, there was a lot of things to do, especially the weekend we were there. The only downside was we didn't have time to do it all and we didn't want to leave.

Barb and Steve put out some fresh breads and oil to snack on the night we arrived. Additionally, there is a snack bar, beverage area available which was nice. Both Steve and Barb, the hosts were very nice and as others have said, it was like you were talking to old friends who make you feel welcome. We could have chatted with them for hours. The breakfast was also very good, so bring an appetitie. This place has so much to offer, there is too much to mention.

I have told several people about this place and we are definitely going to go back and stay for a long weekend if not an entire week. This would be an excellent idea for several couples to rent for a week or even a family gathering. Thank you again for the hospitality, we will be back soon!

Room Tip: You won't be disappointed with any room. We stayed in the Teton Room and would definitely stay i...

This home-away-from-home is perhaps the best kept secret in the Jackson/Yellowstone area. It is beautifully appointed, away from the hustle and bustle, quiet and full of special touches. Barbara and Steve are perfect hosts with invaluable knowledge of the area and its attractions. They set us up with their son, a professional adventure guide, for a private float trip down the Snake River. It was the highlight of our trip!

We stayed in the Teton Pass Suite, with its handmade furniture and comfy bed, jetted tub and steam shower, huge TV and fireplace, and of course the private patio for relaxation. Barb's breakfasts were always a special treat. We never left the table hungry.

If we had stayed in Jackson Hole or nearer to Yellowstone, we would have paid much more for less comfort. Also, we might have missed seeing the beautiful green rolling hills of eastern Idaho farm land on the drive to Yellowstone and the chairlift to the top of the Targhee Mountain range for an outstanding view of the Grand Tetons.

Don't miss the Lone Elk Lodge B&B. It doesn't get any better than this.

If you are looking for a place to stay then look no further. This B & B has it all. Good view of the Tetons close by, great location with good restaurants just minutes away and peace and quiet. This B & B has 6 bedrooms, 6 baths all of which are decorated to perfection. The great room and kitchen are superb with great views of the mountains. There is a pool table and theatre on the lower level and a family bedroom on the upper level. The gorgeous master suite on the main floor has windows all around and a door that opens to a small porch with chairs for relaxing. This B & B was beyond our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you to the host and hostess for making our stay one that we will never forget. We definitely will make it our number one place to stay on future visits!!!!!!!!

The lodge is amazing and beyond comfortable. It is the perfect place to hide out while visiting Jackson Hole, Grand Targhee, Yellowstone or Grand Teton. We hung out more at the lodge that we did out site seeing because we loved it so much. The lodge is beautiful and the decorations picture worthy. We loved it and will be returning! If you're visitng Jackson Hole soon, this is the best deal around with the most for your money!

We were so pleased that Lone Elk was recommended to us. The setting, the accommodations, the appointments were all beyond our expectations. If a comparison would be helpful to others, I'd pick a mini Awahnee Hotal (Yosemite) - tall ceilings, imposing stone fireplace, picture windows overlooking a golf course and pasture land beyond, and much more (the media room is over the top). And all withing a half an hour of Jackson and the Tetons. Any gathering of fifteen or less will not be disappointed.

This lodge was definately beyond what they charged for our 2 night visit! (Making us certain to return) The linens, the bed, the entire stay was far more luxurious than we have ever enjoyed. The host and hostess were very friendly and you could just tell that they wanted us to have a memorable stay in the Teton Valley area. So much to do and enjoy on this side of the pass that we didn't even make it over to Jackson! We will just have to come back!
