We had asked our rafting guide where to have breakfast in Stanley before our Middle Fork Salmon river trip, and he suggested "the Bakery". We arrived a little before 7am and found many locals there also waiting for the place to open, a good sign. Once in the door we sat in one of the small booths near the counter where we watched all of the fresh baked pastries coming out of the oven. Boy did they look and smell good. Everything from fresh nectarine danishes to cinamon rolls to fresh bread. We both had the breakfast sandwich. Mine came on a freshly baked roll with an egg, cheese, lots of thick smokey bacon and grilled tomatoes. Yum! The bakery is also open for lunch, but they close at 2pm. We had tried to have lunch the day before, but arived at 2:10, and so ended up at the Elk Mountain RV Resort for BBQ which also turned out to be a good place favored by locals. (see my review).
