Upon arrival, the front desk staff and then management were from the start abrupt and rude. I booked this room months in advance and was wise enough to write down all of the information. There was a difference of more than $30 per night from the rate I was quoted and the rate they wanted to charge. I was told by the new management that the rate I was quoted during booking was incorrect . . . . interesting since the booked lower rate was also the rate shown on their website. I was told that they would honor it this time but not in the future no matter how far in advance I booked. Room was clean but bed was worn out. Housekeeping was super helpful and was the one bright spot of the stay. I stayed here last year and was much happier with prior management and front desk staff. Doubtful if I will go back next year.
The room was filthy, there was rotten milk on the bedside table that stunk up the room. they were rude at the front desk when i mentioned it. they told me they didnt have time to deal with it and just walked away. i was charged twice I paid cash but It was also charged to credit card. when i called to speak to Wade the manager he started yelling over the phone, and then hung up on me. when I called back he refused to talk to me. I finally was refunded though motel 6 corp.
Stayed here one night in early October. This hotel is about 1 mile from downtown Sandpoint, but there is a walmart and a kfc very close. We just need a place for the night it was very quite, the beds were comfortable,fridge/micro in room coffee. There is a hot tub room and a nice tv seating area in the lobby. Housefeeping was available at night and they were very nice about finding extra pillows for us.The management was very nice, coffee/tea available in the morning and three vending machines available. This is a low price hotel but we felt we good good value for our money!!
If you want a place to lay your head for a night, this was fine. however, they need to vacuum! all the halls, stairways, and the room floors were dirty and needed to be cleaned. the room was very small. lots of space to put luggage, that was good.
what is the difference between a Motel 6 at 45.00 and the Holiday Inn at a government rate of 60.00? the amenities of course. smaller room, cheap linens, no travel size luxuries provided, one small bar of soap. small tv, small sink area with nowhere to put your own things for the bathroom. I will say it was clean in the bathroom. the bed was comfortable although there were suspect hairs on the sheets. they may have been changed, but it was hard to tell if the housekeeper just sheds while they change them. the coffee bar in the lobby was good. great air conditioning. there were burn marks in the bedspread, and no "do not disturb" sign to put out. the pressboard furniture was peeling. there was some noise around 9pm but rest of night was okay. no breakfast included at all. no kleenex, no iron, no hair dryer. I would pay a little more and stay at a Holiday inn if you are traveling on business and if they will honor the government rate. I don't know if there is one in Sandpoint.
