For the past six years my husband and I have vacationed in Sandpoint, staying at various hotels there each year. We love the personality of this small, quaint town but were never really satisfied with any of the places at which we stayed so this year we decided to try our first experience staying at a B&B. Searching the Internet we found the Church Street House. The pictures and description of the place sounded wonderful so we called them and made reservations.
From the onset of our visit, the Innkeeper Heather and her husband Alan couldn't have been any more accommodating. Their place had been beautifully restored and decorated by them and had period pieces throughout. Our room was amazingly comfortable with everything we needed for a restful and relaxing stay while in Sandpoint. It was conveniently located so we could explore the town by walking everywhere. Heather provided a wonderful breakfast each morning that was not only fresh and delicious but was also beautifully presented.
Our stay at the Church Street House gave us both the time and place to totally relax and enjoy our stay this year in Sandpoint. We couldn't have asked for anything better or more enjoyable. It is our pleasure to recommend the Church Street House to those that may be visiting Sandpoint or that portion of Northern Idaho.

We have just returned from a 17 day road trip holiday in Oregon, Montana and Idaho which was truly wonderful. We stayed in many bed and breakfast accommodations during our stay but one of the highlights was our one night stay in Church Street House Bed and Breakfast in Sandpoint, Idaho. Everything about this beautifully restored Arts and Crafts house was perfect. Our hostess Heather, was warm and welcoming from the very first moment and her attention to detail was obvious but not intrusive. We wanted for nothing during our stay there and given its superb location on a quiet street but close to all the town's restaurants, shops and bars we couldnt have asked for more. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented (see photo!) and served in a very relaxed atmosphere. You felt a real sense of family history in this house - something rare and precious. The house itself has been beautifully restored and Heather and her husband will happily tell you all about its history if you are interested. The town of Sandpoint too is worth a visit. Lots of original shops and galleries, it's own microbrewery which we loved and plenty choice for good dining. We couldn't do it justice in the time we spent there. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this charming bed and breakfast to even the most discerning of travellers.

We had been invited to a Canada - USA golf tournament at Hidden Lakes and were looking for something different than the usual chain motel so a quick scan of tripadvisor brought us to Heather's doorstep!
Church Street House looks and feels like the solid, comfortable place it is and we were indeed pampered for one night. I would recommend a stay of two nights or more as there is so much to see in the area.
I must confess that I have driven through Sandpoint many times over the years en route to someplace else and had not paid much attention to the town. There is a definite civic pride in the downtown area, the streets are clean, the buildings are being restored and kept up and every place we visited was friendly and helpful.
This property is on a shaded, quiet street and you can walk to the harbour and lakeside park areas in a few minutes. Heather makes you feel at home right away and certainly spoils you with her famous breakfast.
A real touch of class. I wish we had stayed longer.

Heather and Alan are wonderful hosts. Her breakfasts were always beautifully presented and 2- or 3-course events starting with juice and then a lovely plate of fruits, then on with homemade flakey biscuits and the main omelette or entree for that day. I visited during a very snowy week. Alan not only shoveled the steps and walks, as the city requires, but he cleaned off our cars, which was a great treat. It was below zero as I recall, so thanks Alan. A lovely fire was prepared in the fireplace so I could sit and enjoy a good book before retiring, and Heather usually provided a snack of cookies or homemade brownies, left on the pantry for her house visitors. Their home is comfortable, very clean, quiet, relaxed, and I always looked forward to coming "home" at night during my stay there while I was visiting Sandpoint. Also, you can walk anywhere from the house so don't need to drive the car. Sandpoint is definitely a wonderful town to walk around in. I'm sure you would enjoy your stay in Sandpoint and at Church Street House B&B.

If you are going to Sandpoint, whatever you do, don't stay in a hotel if there is room at the Church Street B&B. Hostess, Heather loves pleasing her guests. The place is absolutely immaculate with every detail a guest might desire provided. We felt so pampered! It was so great to come in and relax after a long day. What a wonderfully cozy, quiet, restful sleep. The breakfast really was stupendous. The fruit plate was almost too pretty to eat, with strawberries, kiwi, pear & apricot slices all arranged beautifully on the plate. I wish I'd gotten a picture of it before I dug in, but I couldn't resist. Heather and husband, Al offer new visitors to town many excellent suggestions for a memorable vacation. A must stay!
