“Like the 50s!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

Now this is a great place! It is adjoining a wonderful large antique collective and the Pie Hut itself is reminiscent of your aunt's kitchen in the 1950s. The decor is quaint and the staff is friendly. Their soups, sandwiches are great, but their pies - OH MY!! They have a fantastic array of homemade pies, to eat there by the slice or to take home the entire pie. Not to be missed - a great place for lunch in Sandpoint! Lots of parking on a major street so it's easy to get in and out.

“This place is straight out of "Mayberry"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Where else can you get lunch that comes with a slice of pie? You will be delighted by this cheery place and their good, home cooking. Good luck trying to decide which pie to try. They are all fantastic!

“Pie and more pie!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

The pie hut is a little out of the way place that is a must find. Lunch specials include an individual savory pie, bowl (not cup) of wonderful soup, and a large slice of one of thirty pies for dessert. All for less than $10! They also sell whole pies very reasonably. Everything was delicious.

“Crummy service trumps good pie”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

The service was very poor. We felt like we were ruining their day by being there! When I asked if they had Huckleberry pie the waitress said" If you don't see it, we don't have it!" Since there were 3 pies in the case with purple filling I went out on a limb and asked if any of those three happened to be Huckleberry and got snarled at! This restaurant has a counter where you can buy pie and also tables where you can get waited on. We wanted to have pie and coffee at a table so after getting a snarl at the counter we sat at a table. The waitress didn't like that either! She was much too busy (???) to be cordial or informative. Left our bill on the table and never came back. Finally I took it to the counter and waited at least 10 minutes there. When some one finally came, I was informed they didn't take cards! There were no signs anywhere that stated this. Sadly, while I waited to pay the bill, I was able to watch the pies being made in a dirty kitchen by staff in flip flops and loose hair.
