“WOW !! What a B&B!!”

Blue Heron Inn

Jul 19, 2008

This is the perfect place if you are looking for a B&B. During our holiday in the USA, we (4 adults and 2 children from Germany) spent a night at the Blue Heron Inn. It was an unforgettable experience. Wonderful house, warm welcome, excellent breakfast - including birthday surprise for our daughter - and everything you expect from a perfect getaway. Thanks to the innkeepers for their service!

“Fabulous B&B experience”

My husband and I stayed at the Blue Heron for a week while I was attending a painting workshop with Ovanes Berberian. Claudia and Dave (Innkeepers) made the experience absolutely exquisite.

Don't miss breakfast. It is truly gourmet and each plate is "designed carefully" with gorgeous herbs and flowers from their garden: homemade cranberry scones w/lemon curd, huevos rancheros to die for, french toast with orange sauce and grand marnier.

We floated into wonderful bed linens and comforters each night with a view of the Snake River. Saw a moose and lots of fishermen.

Claudia and Dave were very accomodating to every request.

Kudos to this inn. We'll be back.

“The Highlight of Our Road Trip- Better Than Any Five Star Hotel”

Blue Heron Inn

Jun 9, 2008

The Blue Heron Inn is a lush oasis, especially after a long journey. Claudia and Dave have a grasp of hospitality that is second to none. The inn itself is beautiful, set right on the river with a peaceful view. The rooms are immaculate, spacious and so inviting. The amenities, including the hot tub, library and game area, pool table, fireplaces (etc. etc.) are much more than I could've hoped for in a Bed and Breakfast. Upon arrival I was so pleasantly surprised I wanted to stay for weeks. Breakfast was fresh and fantastic, and chatting with the other guests was a treat. This establishment is a must visit for anyone passing through Rigby and well worth a detour of hundreds of miles!

My husband and I are just wrapping up a 5-week roadtrip around the West and along the way enjoyed a night at the beautiful Blue Heron Inn near Rigby. Not only is the location ideal but the Inn itself is simply gorgeous. Each room has a little of its own character and charm and they are all incredibly cozy. The Inn Keepers were charming and funny and their hospitality was above and beyond. The breakfast was wonderful and our only regret is that we didn't have time to spend the day by the fireplace with a good book. We will definitely be back and plan to stay for much longer!

When deciding where to go for our honeymoon, my husband and I chose to get away from crowds of people and mainstream tourism. Neither of us had ever been to Idaho, but we settled blindly on Rigby based on the appealing website of the Blue Heron Inn. We couldn't have been more satisfied. We hadn't a clue what we were going to do in the area during our 5 night stay, but after the first morning, we had a week's itinerary all planned out by Claudia, who seemed genuinely excited to help us discover the area's attractions. From touring Yellowstone to river-rafting in the Grand Tetons to horseback riding in the Targhee National Forest to fly-fishing on the Snake River to spending a day shopping in Jackson Hole... there is definitely no lack of things to do! Furthermore, neither my husband nor I are very interested in fishing, but considering the location of the Inn - right on the banks of the Snake River - we couldn't resist buying a cheap pole in Rigby and spending our evenings fishing practically from our doorstep!
As for the Inn, it was an absolutely wonderful find. It is located in a beautiful and picturesque setting and manages to pull off the feeling of luxury without being pretentious. We stayed in the Blue Heron Suite, which had a beautiful river view from the private balcony. Although the days were warm, the evenings cooled off enough to be comfortable.. and even enough to enjoy the oversized jetted tub. The pool table in the downstairs game room was an added bonus and a great way to occupy quiet nights after long, eventful days.
And finally, Dave and Claudia were perfect hosts. Breakfasts, which they made together, were a good mix of gourmet dining and "good old fashioned down-home cooking." (Also, way more food than I could ever eat in an entire day... bring your appetite!)They were both a wealth of knowledge and went out of their way to set up all of our reservations for us.
We couldn't have picked a better spot to spend our honeymoon! Thanks for a great time!
