“Worst of our vacation”

Best Western CottonTree Inn

Reserved only a day in advance and all that was left was a honeymoon suite. I was advised by phone that although there was a sunken tub in the bedroom, there was also a conventional shower and tub in the bath. Turns out there was NO tub or shower in the bath, so we had to take bath/shower in the bedroom.

A/C unit was grossly inadequate in the large room and having to shower in the bedroom made it worse.

The tub was very slow to drain, it probably took 30 minutes after my shower before my wife could bathe.

Desk personnel were impersonal and almost arrogant. Needed bulb and was told a bus personnel would bring it. Since we would be gone I elected to pick it up at the desk after having dinner and even an hour later they still didn't have the bulb for me but presented it immediately when I asked where I could purchase one, since I could not see in the room which was grossly dark anyway.

We were on the 3rd floor in a buildiing separate from the lobby and there was no elevator. Since parking was on the 2nd level we had to climb stairs up one floor. The vending machine in our building was empty. We felt that the tenants in this building were really not worth their effort, although we paid full price.

Hallways were very hot, not air conditioned.

The room finally cooled down some by the wee morning hours and we managed to get some sleep.

The wireless internet worked fine for both laptops.

After a day at Yellowstone Park we drove a couple of hours to Pocatello, ID and decided to stay at this Best Western because it was on the top of a hill and had 24 hour swimming plus free breakfast. The front desk staff was very nice and the cookies are good. The rooms were clean and the down comforter on the bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again and again.

My family was caravaning from Southern California to Montana and stopped in Pocatello for one night on our way north. My father had found this motel on AAA and got some sort of deal, so it was pre-booked.

When we arrived at the motel, the motel manager kindly took my husband and I to our rooms to make sure they fit our needs. The motel was doing some renovating so the hallways in that building were torn up but the rooms themselves were lovely.

My husband and I got a large room with a king-sized bed, complete with down pillows and comforters - VERY nice. The manager even made sure to give us a room that connected to my parent's room, which gave us a nice opportunity to visit with each other.

Even though we could see evidence of the construction, we never heard it or smelled any fumes (i.e. from new paint, wallpaper or carpet).

The CottonTree offers a very nice breakfast buffet complete with cereal, fruit, waffles (I think), eggs, sausage and biscuits. My dad was very impressed! Also, the front desk offers cookies and my husband says the peanut butter cookie was the best he ever tasted.

The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to assist us with our needs.

Overall, this was a pleasant experience and I would stay at the CottonTree Inn again.

“Comfortable and nicely decorated Best Western”

My husband and I stayed here in September, 2007 on our way from Boise, Idaho, to Yellowstone National Park. We found it to be one of the nicer Best Westerns we have stayed at.

The decor of the hotel is lovely with granite vanities in the rooms. I asked if they had recently remodeled, and was told that they had done so this past winter. The room was clean and comfortable. The only negative I found was that the sink vanity was rather small, whereas the large large granite countertop in the room seemed to be kind of wasted space.

Some motels have an inadequate area in which the continental breakfast is served. This is not a problem at this location. Off the lobby is the breakfast room, and it has about 20 tables with plenty of room in between. Besides all the other items usually on the menu for contiental breakfasts, some hot dishes were also served. These included an egg dish, and another which I think was grits. In the evening, don't miss out on the fresh baked cookies served at the front desk.

Staff was friendly, and the room was clean. There is easy access to the freeway, gas stations, and several restaurants in the area. We ate at the Perkins Family restaurant close by, and were very satsified with the food and helpful attitude of the staff there. Because the weather was hot, we drove to the restaurant, but in cooler weather, we would have walked.

If you feel like shopping, try the Fred Meyer store about 1 mile away. We do not have this store in our area, and we were very impressed with the extensive line of products. I had forgotten to pack an herbal supplement and was able to find it here.

We look forward to returning to the Best Western CottonTree Inn in the future.

Writing this review (January 07) along time after I stayed here with my father (July 06). Why, Because I remember it being the Best Hotel in the chain I have stayed in so far.

Everything about this hotel I enjoyed. The pool, sauna, food, bar, rooms. It was clean and friendly. What more can I say. Well done to the hotel.
