My friend and I stumbled onto this restaurant because we stayed in the Best Western across the parking lot. Both of them are right on the bank of the beautiful Clearwater River in Orofino.

We had no idea that Dining on the Edge was a gourmet restaurant. We were just hoping for decent small town food.

Just dining with a great river view would have been enough for us, but the food turned out to be very high level cuisine like you you would find in the finest big city restuarants.

I had a salad with chicken sauted in an almond crust. It was absolutely perfect.

My friend had Chicken Wellington, which is chicken and mushrooms in a puff pastry crust. Wow it was good! I have eaten in a lot of really nice restaurants and have never seen this on a menu before.

It is a long day's drive for me to get to Orofino, but I may just go back to visit Dining on the Edge. It is a destination in itself.
