I was pleasently surprised when I opened the doors of the Mona Lisa Fondue Restaurant in Nampa Idaho. Located in Nampa's notorious 'Northside', I will admit I was quite skeptical of how well the owners could pull off an atmosphere opposite the location. The lighting was beautiful; soft and alluring. The interior was designed to make you feel as if you were in Venice, Italy...a job well done. The mood was romantic, yet set for even the largest of crowds. With reservations, the Mona Lisa Fondue Restaurant could accommidate any. I ordered, and highly reccommend the 'Fondue for Two'. A lovely display of cheese fondue with an assortment of breads, vegetables and fruit as an appetizer, for the main course a Hibatchi grill was brought to the table along with a plate full of Fillet Minon, chicken, salmon, and alligator sausage. I grilled the meats with the oils of my choice. To accompany my meats, mouth-watering rosemary mashed potatoes and fresh mozzerella cheese, as well as chutneys for garnishing as I please. Dessert fondue was my choice of either milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate or vanilla caramel. I opted for the milk chocolate. Fresh fruits such as strawberries and apple slices, as well as cakes and other delicious treats accompanied the fondue. With a glass of wine from their extensive wine list, I enjoyed a fabulous meal.
