“Nice Hotel. Subpar Location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

This Hampton in was just as nice as any I've stayed in. The continental breakfast was very nice and the staff were friendly. The rooms were clean and I had no overall issues with the hotel. The only downside is the location. It is located quite a ways from attractions in Boise and is even a little off the beaten path from Meridian.

beauratke,

Thanks for the review of our hotel, much appreciated. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay, our staff and our hot breakfast buffet. We here at the hotel wish greatly that we were a bit closer to some area attractions as you have said. It isn't to far to get to Meridian attractions for the most part, 5-15 minutes and most Boise attractions are only about 15-20 minutes away, although it would certainly be nice to be a bit closer. I hope that you get the chance to come and see us again, we would love to have you back. Safe Travels.

Of course, being a Hampton Inn you know that you are getting great quality and this location is no different. We had stayed here previously so there was no question where we would stay as we were passing through. Everything about our room was outstanding and we really enjoyed our overnight stay here. The staff was very friendly and made us feel right at home. The place was very clean and that's something we really appreciate! They have some evening refreshments but we arrived a bit too late for that. The breakfast in the morning was very good and was the usual Hampton offerings of just about everything you could want. They also have breakfast to go at the front desk in paper sacks if you have no time to eat at the hotel. The swimming pool was very nice and clean. Unfortunately, the sauna was being cleaned the morning we were there so we didn't get to try it out. I'm glad to see that this hotel keeps things as clean and orderly as they do, even if we missed the sauna. Oh well. I would definitely stay here again!
There are quite a number of good restaurants in the area as well that you can check out.

akheaps76,
Sure glad you enjoyed your stay with us recently and everything was satisfactory with your stay. We certainly appreciate your kind words and always strive to make our guests as comfortable as possible. Sorry the jacuzzi was not available for your use the morning you were here, seems there is never a good time to clean and change the water, we try and do maintenance at times when we will not disrupt our guests, but being a 24/7 operation, it's hard to find that perfect time. Hope you can come and see us again.

My husband and I spent 10 days/9 nights at this hotel. We originally looked at a VRBO, but are SOOOOO glad we stayed here. We had a small window of time to get my husband's 80+ yr. old aunt - out of the hospital - choose and move her into an assisted living facility - clear out her mobile home and place it on the market - and, oh yeah, find a dentist to get her new dentures!!! The service, cleanliness, friendliness, and the "above and beyond the call of duty" attitude of the Hampton Inn staff members - from management/front desk, maintenance/room service, and the fabulous kitchen staff who provided "comfort food" every morning - was outstanding. They were incredibly helpful to two folks from outside of the area, who luckily knew our way around Boise, but needed additional assistance outside of the ordinary to pull off this move from a central and comfortable base of operations. We found the small kitchenette very useful, the business center with internet VERY HELPFUL, unlimited local calls - YEA!, and the studio suite was necessary to spread out a lot of of "stuff", which we needed to sort and decide what to do with. As I mentioned in my review to Hampton Big-Wigs: "We would stay here again in a heartbeat" AND WE WILL! I hope you will, too!!!

Room Tip: From what I could tell -- ALL rooms are great!

Thank you so very much for the kind words about your stay with us. All of us here at the hotel fondly remember you both and so enjoyed having you stay with us. It was an absolute pleasure talking with you on occasion and glad that everything worked out for your aunt that you had to move into assisted living. If and when you come back to visit her, please come and see us again as we would love to catch up. We hope all is well for you both in beautiful Denver CO.

Nice location with our student going to school in Nampa - easy access to Nampa and Boise. We liked the fact that the hotel had a message of being "green" with recyclable cups and all. There were also little messages printed on the entry carpet and elswhere making guests feel welcome. Hotel employees were very friendly and helpful. Fitness room is fully equipped with recumbent bike, treadmill, FX machine, free weights, weighted balls, yoga mat and a big Gymastik type ball - all in new condition, but the room was a bit small for 3 or more people. Nice pool and hot spa. Breakfast was excellent with lots of healthy options - fresh made oatmeal with craisins, sliced almonds, and brown sugar, fresh cut fruit (melons, pineapple, grapes), hard boiled eggs, yogurts, plus the waffle machine, assorted dry cereals, donuts, muffins, sweet rolls, biscuits/gravy, sausage/bacon...and there was plenty of it. Soaps/shampoo/lotions were nice because they were not heavily scented. Room was clean and had a microwave and fridge and easy in-room computer access, but it was a bit small for 4 adults sleeping in 2 queen beds and all our stuff. Liked the granite counters in the bathroom and fluffy comforters on the beds. Even though we were on the side by the freeway, our room was very quiet.

Room Tip: If you have 4 adults and lots of stuff, get a suite.

Stopped overnight while driving cross country. Was very pleased as the room was spotless and the bed was super comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was well stocked and the eating area clean. Highly recommended. We will be searching out Hampton Inn's in the future.

This was a "stay-cation" while our hard wood floors were being refinished. Booked via Hotwire for $68/nite for a $125/nite room - we stayed to nites. Two queens, flat screen tv, granite counters in bathroom, SUPER CLEAN. Beds were a pleasant surprise, probably my favorite thing! They have down alternative duvets instead of beadspreads, and the duvets are tucked inside a white duvet cover which are washed like sheets for every guest stay. Super clean, wasn't afraid to sit on or touch the bedding! Very clean room, nice but small indoor pool. Another nice feature was the "suite" shop - they had everything from soda to ice cream, chips, shelf-stable meals for use in your in-room microwave, milk, etc. Breakfast was superb - fruit, yogurt, cereals, apples & bananas, fresh cut fruit, waffle maker, bagels & cream cheese, biscuits w/ jam/jellies, a meat each day (sausage one day, bacon the other), toaster, muffins, and 3 kinds of coffee (decaf, regular, and hardy blend). Hotel is super easy to find, right off hwy I-84 at the Eagle exit, but we never heard any freeway noise. The valet carts to roll your luggage to your room need new wheels (hard to steer), but that was the only fault I could find! We were put next to the mechanical room, couldn't hear a thing. No restaurant or room service, but plenty of good eats close by.

We stayed here with Hilton Honors points and had requested a room without connecting doors. When we arrived we asked to change the room to one where we could see our car. It took a while for the clerk to find us that room. She checked her map and thought it did not have a connecting door, which as it turned out, it did. She told us the hotel was only 50% occupied and she would keep the room next to us open. She did not keep her word, The room next to us did have guests and there was some disturbance, which was not that big a problem. The treatment we got from the clerk was a problem. She also cut us short on the phone and was going to call us back, because she had to talk to her manager!! She never did. I was encouraged to report her treatment of us to the manager which I did and got an " I am sorry" response. It's a shame our stay turned out this way, as the room itself was very well done.

This was the third time we used Hilton Honors points at a Hampton, each time we wound up for one reason or another with a room with a connecting door, each time this caused us a problem, there is no insulation!

We are so very sorry that you had a disappointing stay with us and the room that you were in did not meet your expectations. I also apologize for the problems that you had with our front desk agent, I do know that she was trying to help get you into the best room that she could. Quite a few of our rooms have connecting doors and I do know that you said you wanted to be able to see your car and this may have been the best room that she could get you into where you could see you car? Our goal is to make our guests as comfortable as possible and we did not do a very good job for you and again I apologize. I certainly hope you will come back and give us another ty one day soon and let us show you the hospitality our guests are accustomed to.
