“Memorable Family Stays”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2014

The Shore Lodge is on a short list of must-stay hotels or lodges in Idaho. Sun Valley Lodge, Coeur d'Alene Resort, and the Shore Lodge are the places to be if you want the Idaho resort experience. The Shore Lodge rooms we book annually are literally steps to the beach. Boat rentals are easy, the weather is typically magnificent in July and August when we go, and the service and food at the Lodge are top notch.

I have had wonderful experiences with this hotel in the past, so I decided to stay here for a birthday overnighter. Im not sure what happened, but everything that could go wrong, did....including the concierge ruining my brand new motorcycle helmet while I was out playing golf. I have yet to hear from management. I have left messages with the front desk and the contact information I was given for Levi Johnson, the customer relations manager.

The location of Shore Lodge has always inspired guests: looking north over the pristine crater Payette Lake and its boats and skiers is lovely any time of day and every season. The high quality of its food and service makes the dining room a romantic and fun place. The bar has been a favorite for decades. And the beach has improved for family fun since its early beginnings. The addition of a fine pool makes it great for families as well as couples or friends. The business center makes it possible to reach out to anywhere from this relatively remote mountain town. The Shore Lodge is appropriate for families, friends reunions, romantic escapes or small business groups.

I was here for four days for board meetings in July and enjoyed every aspect of my stay. The room, the meals, the meeting space, and the fitness center were all top shelf and met or exceeded my expectations. What made the stay truly memorable was the staff that provided understated but totally professional service. Thanks to all of you

I grew up skiing at Brundage Mt. and had never visited McCall, ID during the summer months. We used to stay at the Shore Lodge so made a point to stay there on this visit. We arrived in town a bit early for check in and were invited to go to the spa to wait out our time, and yet it didn't seem easy to lug suitcases in and try to put contents in a locker so we explored the burg of McCall instead.
When we came back at 3:00, our room still wasn't ready so they offered us a complimentary glass of wine and we sat overlooking beautiful Lake Payette until we were notified our room was ready. Our luggage had already been delivered to our gorgeous lake view suite.
We noted families had set up camp below us and occupied a major portion of the beach for this large group. Surprisingly, they had already marked the area prior to 6am the next morning so one could see this was a reoccuring phenomonon. Most of the guests seemed to be families and many with multi generations. We felt odd just being a couple as we were constantly surrounded by the sound and presence of young ones. It was a bit surprising given the price of the Shore Lodge ($259 a night BEFORE taxes, and the $12 resort fee per day = $300.81 per night.)
Ordered room service for breakfast, which was a lot of food and included a $5.00 service charge and a 19% gratuity, although the cute little gal that delivered it told me we could add more if we felt the service was worth it. ($33)
The room was nice with a separate seating area with it's own TV. The bathroom, all done in green stone was lovely, although with no light in the shower combined with the darkness of the stone, it was a bit hard to see.
Loved watching a storm including lightening over the lake as we sat on our private balcony. A beautiful setting.
The staff was very helpful and friendly and the setting hard to beat.

Room Tip: We had a lake view which was beautiful. Might have also had nice views in the opposite direction al...

A really beautiful and historic lodge right on the lake. The whole staff was friendly and made our stay delightful. The huckleberry martinis in the Narrows lounge were off the hook and the views were amazing! Quiet and relaxing for couples and fun for families.

Great place to relax and stay . The staff was courteous and professional. You cannot beat the views and surrounding area. We always try to stop when we are in the area . It is the best place we have found to stay in McCall if you want to be spoiled. It is a bit pricey, but you have to pay for good service
