This is my second visit to The Mill and I wasn't too thrilled to go here again. It just didn't seem like something I had to have. Well, I remember why....

The atmosphere inside is very dank. The lights cast a yellow haze over everything, made me feel like I was in a basement. There didn't seem to be airconditioning - fine - but to people like my DH who sweat when it's 70 degrees outside, that's not too good.

The food is mediocre. DH had ribs and they did look charred & they tasted dry and tasteless to me. He said he's had better. My garlic shrimp was fine but the veggies that came with it were less than exciting. The best part about the meal to me was the bread! Yum! Also, the cocktails (martini's) were in a pitifully small martini glass and not worth the cost.

Service was friendly and attentive....definitely feels like a family runned business.

I don't mean to be disrespectful to The Mill or the owners, I do know quite a few people who enjoy it. I will just say that maybe with some remodeling or improving the food quality, it could be a much better establishment - in my opinion, of course.

Was looking forward to trying this place for 2 years and got the recommendaton from a hotel desk clerk. Wished I never listened. this was the worst restaurant experience I had in a long time. The food was way overpriced and portions small. The hostess/cocktail waitress was so horrible she belonged in an 1800's saloon somewhere in the center of Nevada. She was rude, sarcastic and I had to call the waitress over to tell her not to let her near our table again...If i didn't have 2 hungry kids we would have left but it was late. I'll never go here again and make sure people don't waste their time here. My wife and I also own a restaurant (not in McCall) and were appalled by the service nd prices.

This restaurant was recommended by three different people but was disappointing and overpriced. It's as if the people who are running the place think it's a top restaurant but are clueless about how to go about it. The salad was boring, slightly stale, iceberg lettuce straight from a bag. The vegetable beef soup was ok. The trout was overcooked. The steaks were ok (we do better at home with steaks from Costco). The ribs were a bit charred. We're not sure how you make a baked potato come out so tasteless, dry, and rubbery, and the corn was apparently from a can. The fries were overseasoned, but we suppose some people like them that way. (They forgot our daughter's fries, but quickly brought out a plate of fresh ones.) The bread pudding was hard and dry. The cheesecake at least was quite good.

It would have been a tolerable meal at a cheap steakhouse, but for such high prices we expected something vastly better. (In fact, later in the week we went to Brick 29 in Nampa with more people, had more appetizers and desserts, and paid about the same price for a meal that was in an entirely different class.)

Extremely expensive for a "dump". Food is hit and miss.
