“Where are the front desk people hiding?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

Hard to find anyone around the front desk to help. They also do not answer the telephone after 200 rings! I find it hard to believe the owner/s of this hotel support this kind of employee disappearing acts.

Room Tip: Very bad service.

We had a great 4th floor room with a view of the river and valley. The whole staff was super accommodating and friendly (front desk, housekeeping and shuttle driver). We did not eat at the restaurant but enjoyed beverages and people watching in the brew pub. Convenient location, close to everything. We will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: North facing rooms have views of the river and valley.

Ick. Used Band-Aids on the pool deck, slimy floors in the showers, smelly lockers and unprofessional employees all add up to a poor facility. Too bad, it could be so nice. Also, why on earth did this place pave over most of the property? It is not a "natural beauty" by any stretch. It's not inviting at all, the hotel looks like a mental institution and has to be one of the most degraded Red Lions I've ever visited. Moldy guest room showers need to be re-tiled or replaced with inserts. The hotel lobby itself stinks of tobacco and alcohol. Old shabby luggage carts and dirty front doors added to the overall negative effect.

Room Tip: Try another hotel.

Staff is friendly, rooms are clean, and the view from the deck in the bar is amazing. Went to Priceline and named my own price and got room for considerable lower. Easy parking, and no complaints! I would stay here again. Several meetings were taking place on the property but it was quiet and calm. Just what we were looking for.

Our room looked like it was recently renovated. Flat screen TV was nice, and it was a decent sized room. Bed was a little stiff for our liking. Exhaust fan in the bathroom was hanging about 2 inches out of the ceiling and the stopper in the tub was broken in half. These were a couple of obvious things that should have been taken care of. We also ate at the restaurant. Good sized portions of food, average quality, nothing more. We'd probably stay there again, but we'd check first for better options.

Got to stay here again and had another wonderful evening. Love the large rooms, and slept like a log in the comfortable bed. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at The Exchange. Got to try some of their locally brewed microbrews. Really good!! Recommend this place for a relaxing night's stay. It's got it all!! However, be careful of the bathtub when showering. The bottom is curved and can be quite slippery. Will request a mat next time we stay.

We booked through Hotwire and got a good deal on it after I compared it once the hotel was revealed...so we were happy. Upon late check in, there was a pretty young lady behind the desk who was very accommodating and provided great service--especially at such a late hour. Great job! There was a sign at the front desk that said "Breakfast Buffet 6-10. Free w coupon or $9.95 with out". We didn't get a coupon, likely since we had booked with Hotwire. When I called in the morning and inquired about the buffet pricing for the kids, they said it was $9.95--no matter how old. Seriously?!?! $10 + Tax and Tip for a 4 year old and a 6 year old. They did say there was a kids menu, but didn't elaborate on it. We skipped the breakfast in house and went to a GREAT place--Waffles N More; about 3 minutes away, and glad we did. Just a basic breakfast diner, but great atmosphere and service, prices were about normal for a diner breakfast. I'm not a waffle fan, but they were REALLY good!
Back at the hotel, before checkout, I decided see what the kids menu looked like and was like. Sadly, it was a pretty good value with a full 2 egg, meat, toast breakfast for the kids for like 2.99 or 3.99. But they never said that when we called in, and any place that charges $10 for a 4 year old, you wouldn't think is going to offer a fair price on a kids menu. I never actually saw the breakfast buffet as it was already cleared, however they did have lunch set up. Not bad looking--and only $7.99. Normally lunch is MORE than breakfast. Whatever. I guess they try to make up some $$ on you if you got a deal, so try to make it up on the back end. :( I would have paid $10 myself for the buffet, but not for a 4 and 6 year old. C'mon Red Lion...get with the program. Otherwise, the shower was great good pressure, head, and heat. Fan/AC in the room was newer and worked well. Room was a good value overall. Would stay there again, but would hope that someone in management would step up and make it a bit more family friendly a the buffet.

Room Tip: The back side (non parking lot side) of the main hotel overlooks a steep incline road. 18 wheelers...

Thank you for taking the time to complete our customer service survey, we continue to grow and improve with your feedback.

I apologize for the breakfast buffet situation in a whole. The buffet was a trial for the summer, as we are now back to ordering off the menu. The coupon was figured into higher rate rooms, being booked through hotwire you did not receive one.

I’m working with the front desk manager and her staff about their knowledge about everything that is going on in the hotel, to ensure that they can be as helpful as they can to every guest. In regards to the lack of knowledge and giving out incorrect information, all children are free at the buffet and I apologize that this information was given to you incorrectly. We are putting together a spot at the front desk for menu’s for the guests, that way if there is any questions an agent and the guest can go over it together.

Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention and helping me getting it turned around! We look forward to seeing you during future stays!
