We found the property to be a solid place to stay for the cost. It is a standard 3-star hotel that is in a great location for walking to downtown Ketchum.

I have never experienced such poor management, maintenance and ownership. (Independently owned with no satisfaction guaranteed). Our first night there we were woke up from the noise level of the room that was adjoined to ours at 3:00 a.m. The night manager could not control them, therefore our only other option was to sleep in our car as we had to be up at 6:00 a.m.This was our son's wedding day which we had driven 12 hours prior to checking in. We payed cash for 2 nights, the air conditioner and refrigerator were broken, and you wouldn't want to take your shoes off . The managers could not do anything without the owners consent. We were preoccupied with the rehearsal dinner and the wedding we had been planning a year for, so obviously we didn't have the time to deal with the issue at hand. However, the day manager did reach the owner and was authorized to compensate our disrupted first night in the amount of a $32.00 check. We were also reassured that the "partiers" had left for our second and last night there. That was true, but our refrigerator and AC was still not working. When we got home I called and asked to speak to the owner. I was transferred to a very discourteous man that didn't seem to be concerned about customer service. It was my word against the night managers. He told me that he'd been in hotels with no running water for a day and could not get a refund. I regret not asking him if that disrupted his sleep? Also, he told me that no one else complained. I wouldn't have either had this not been a very special occasion and I could have slept in later. His final words were that I was lucky to even get a check in that amount. I thought everyone was happy, wealthy and courteous in Sun Valley.

The location was fantastic and the front desk staff is very nice and informative. They knew all the great restaurants in town. They must have recently redecorated the lobby with the plazma TV and the cozy fireplace. The computer station in the upstairs loft was nice for checking email. All in all it was a nice getaway.

We decided to get away for the weekend and go to ketchum Idaho.

I decided to book a stay with Clarion inn of Sun Valley. Clarion inns, are supposed to be top hotels and worth the money you spend. This was not the case with this motel.

We were very disappointed from the moment we arrived at the motel. The outside of the motel is run down. Once inside the lobby, we knew this could not be the quality of a Clarion Inn. The lobby is very small and has the appearance of a lower class motel.


Then we got into our room, the room size is very small and the colors of the carpet and bedspreads are very old style colors. They do have a table to sit at, but the chairs don't even go under the table. Even our bathroom could have used some cleaning on the shower tile.

At night we went to shut our curtains and found that on one side, we only had half of a curtain. This was unbelievable to have this much problems at a motel which is supposed to be top of the line in quality.


I could not believe the next day when we got the bill for $175.00 for our stay.


We will never go back to this motel. I wouldn't recommend this motel to anyone.
