“Nice place but not up to the hype”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2012

Our recent spring break get away with the kids was fun. Three moms + 7 kids (3-9 years) + 2 full days at the water park. It was pricey - all told, it was $400/per family for the stay. We had two nice adjoining rooms with plenty of space for sleeping (a plus). Upon arrival I thought the beds looked like they were made by the folks who had just left, so first impression wasn't solid. However, the rooms are very nice and FULLY accommodated us.

The kids loved the water park, but it definitely didn't live up to the hype I had received. It was COLD! They say on the website the air temp is 84 degrees, but I simply don't believe it. And the water was chilly too. Especially the little ones shivering in the big play area...I was right there with them. Crank up the heat inside and in the water for goodness sake - we want to feel transported! It wasn't as big as I thought it would be from the photos, but again, the kids loved it and that's what mattered. We finally found HOT hot tubs up on the bar deck, but only one of them was ever working, so there were piles of us in it. The main "hot tub" was barely warmer than the other water throughout.

I give them a barely passing on the cleanliness factor...in the drains throughout the walkways there was brown sludge and hair clogging almost all of them (gag!) and I was shocked to realize that no shower was required before entering.

They say you can't bring outside food in, but everyone does. The food there looked terrible - no better than carnival food. A shame for sure, as it could be so much better.

It poured rain so we were grateful for the indoor getaway. If they could change one thing to make it better for me it would be to WARM IT UP!

Room Tip: Get rooms as close to the water park as possible and on the ground floor - we were in the D wing and...

We stayed two nights during the week and found the resort and town almost like a ghost town.
Our room was a 1 bedroom and was quite nice for the price. Plenty of space for a family of 5. Full kitchen that was great for bkfst and dinner as restaurant choices are very limited in this resort and town. Nice grocery store in Kellogg for food shopping. We did eat at Noah's once in the resort and it was ok. Even drove 10 min to next town, Wallace which has nothing. Small town USA for sure.
The waterpark was fun and the whole family enjoyed it. Prices in the bar were reasonable.
The gondola to the mountain was fun and the skiiing decent even though no snow down at resort.

We stay here at least twice a year. We have found the staff to be VERY courteous and helpful, and the accommodations tasteful and comfortable.

Room Tip: Go with the 1 bedroom if you plan on cooking your own meals. There is a Yok's grocery store clo...

The building and the mountain offer great fun but the staff of Silver Mt were disrespectful and appeared to be bothered by their guests. The employees didn't even try basic courtesy. I would not want to take any guest there due to the treatmen.t I received

Very nice resort. Check-in, check-out staff were very knowledgeable and pleasant. Room was modern but fairly small. ( studio condo) Be warned, there is no stove or oven in these rooms, so making your own meals in them are pretty much out of the question. Even a toaster oven would have been nice. Enterance to the water park comes with the room. Nice bar area above the waterpark for adults to sit in hot tubs and have drinks. Ordered pizza from the pizza shop in the village which was excellent. Overall for what we paid I think its a little overpriced. If I had it to do over I would have called and tried to get a better room rate. Talking to some of the employees, the lack of snow this year is hurting them for business this year. (2011- 2012)

This was our first visit to Morning Star Lodge. We stayed one night in a one bedroom condo and it was the nicest condo we have stayed in. It looked brand new and was really big. We had a full kitchen which we used for snacks and breakfast, which we brought with us. We had pizza delivered from Wildcat and ate it while watching a movie. It was yummy and fast. The kids slept on the fold-out sofa bed while my husband and I had the separate bedroom. The bathroom was huge and had everything we needed. We got a great fall season deal, which included access to the waterpark both the day of our arrival and the day of our departure. The park was closed when we arrived because of a power outage and the person at check-in notified us. They even called us to let us know the power was back on and the waterpark was back open. The waterpark was the highlight of the trip. With the great deal we got, we will definitely be back.

This hotel is perfect for the family and I. Although this resort is located at a ski resort, we have been here at all times of the year. We go there for the indoor water park. The rooms/condos are amazing, they are comfortable and reasonable if you have kids that want to spend 8 hours a day at the well designed water park. Just be careful…the restaurants at this resort are TERRIBLE. Noah’s Canteen has to be the biggest waste of money I have ever been to. The rooms have great kitchens, we cooked Thanksgiving dinner here, but decided to go out for dinner the next night~ what a waste of time and money…I would have been happier with a bag of cold McDonalds….So, come for the rooms and the water park, but don’t be fooled by the “restaurants” on the property.
