I had no idea I would be in Idaho Falls, so I did not plan ahead and check out the possibilities. The Super 8 was the first budget type motel I ran into off the interstate.

The problems: I was placed in a non-smoking room on a smoking floor. Needless to say, I did not enjoy the experience. The front desk clerks were nice, but they were not helpful re the discounts (i.e. AAA).

The pluses: It's in a good location, near the Falls. There are yummy waffles at breakfast, and a free internet in the lobby. The staff was nice too.

Because of the smoke, I would not stay here again. They do seem to have floors with all non-smoking rooms, but I don't know if that could be guaranteed. I would prob. try the motel 6 next time.

We stayed overnight when we picked up a college student in Rexburg, ID. This is a no frills place to stay. However, it was very clean and well kept. They had a nice toast buffet in the morning consisting of muffins, toast, waffles, juices, milk , tea and coffee. The buffet was kept stocked and someone was on hand to help out with the waffle maker when needed. Although not fancy it gave us a good start and how much can you really expect from a motel where you can get a good night's sleep for 2 for under $70 per night? We are sound sleepers so this wasn't a problem for us. But for a light sleeper it could be. The fan on the heating/cooling system ran constantly. For me it was like white noise and I slept very comfortably. The staff was very pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable night's sleep. We will definitely stay there again if we find ourselves in the area.

I chose the Super 8 since it was very near the airport and I had an early morning flight. The hotel was clean, the desk staff was very friendly and the bed and room were very comfortable. The nightly rate was reasonable and the hotel is well located near major highways, the airport, restaurants and downtown Idaho Falls. I knew it would be a no-frills hotel but a cut above Motel 6 so in that regard it was great. My parents also decided to stay at the same hotel and booked their room later. We asked to be in adjacent rooms but they were unable to meet our request. The hotel is a little akward to navigate and appears that a later wing was added so the floors are broken up. My hallway was clean and fresh but my parents' hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. Luckily the inside of the room was clear of the smell. Each of our rooms only had a single queen bed but that was sufficient. My flight was very early so I left without checking out the breakfast. Overall I was pleased and you could definitely do worse. If you have a tight budget or just need a quiet, clean place to sleep, this is worth considering.

“What do you mean the air conditioner doesn't work?”

Super 8 Motel Idaho Falls

Reserved a double bed with rollaway online, we arrived early and had to wait until 3pm. With a cancellation they uprgraded us to the 3 bed suite at no extra cost-sounded great until we got there- 3rd floor, about 96 degrees outside that day and the air conditioner didn't cool the air. What misery!! We asked the guy at the front desk to check out the air conditioner and all he could say was "well its hot outside, this is normal". Continental breakfast was rather skimpy, but hey, it's a continental breakfast. They had a hot tub, but no pool. Who wants a hot tub when it's 96 degrees outside? I would reccomend a different hotel in the area, especially in the summer months.
