The room was not as clean as I would have liked. The hallway looked like it had not been vacuumed, and there was a faint smell of water damage. Staff was polite, but not very helpful. I requested a 12:00 noon checkout (regular checkout is at 11:00 am), which was refused. I guess to emphasize their point, the front desk called my room at 10:58 and asked whether I was checking out. The continental breakfast was about what you'd expect, not great, but not horrible.

“good for family on budget”

Best Value Pinecrest Inn

Jul 26, 2008

Older property with large clean rooms that have both microwave and fridge. Front staff were friendly and helpful. Pool has seen better days but was very warm, clean and quiet. Public golf course across street looked well maintained. we drove from Portland and spent the night on our way to Yellowstone (2.5 hrs away). It was easy to find and right along the way. The pool was very nice for us and our kids after a long day in the car. There is a great little authentic mexican restaurant across the street to the left one block up the hill from Little Big Horn Antler Shop ( no joke its weirder than it sounds, check it out on the way) . The restuarannt was small and clean with three very nice women cranking out hand made tortillas, tamales and a laundery list of various meat fillings and fresh cilantro, and salsa. Cheap, fresh and very tasty all served with ice cold beer and mexican sodas for the kids, nice. Room that night was very quiet and dark. check out was quick.

The staff has always been accomodating during my stays. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Not the Ritz, but affordable to those of us on a tight shoestring budget. Will be staying there again 07/08.

“Great Value Motel”

Raleigh, NC

I stayed at the Littletree Inn for a month in the summer of 2007. While it is not the best hotel in the world. It has everything you could want in a value motel. The breakfast is better than most continental breakfasts at other motels I've stayed at. It has free wireless internet in the lobby and a computer for guest use. Microwaves and mini fridges are available for free, but you should call ahead and reserve a set because they can run out on busy weekends. They also have several different room styles because of several different renovations that have occurred over the years. If you need a bath tub in your room, you may want to confirm your room will have a tub. The "recreation center" or exercise room that they advertise is a exercise bike, so don't expect to pump any iron without going to a real gym. The lounge is open now on Wednesday to Saturday and you get in free if they are charging a cover for the comedy on Thursday nights. The motel staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall this motel is a good value and a decent place to stay to save some cash.

“Helpful staff, disappointing room”

Greensboro, North Carolina

I booked one night at the Pinecrest Inn with a great rate through Hotwire. The staff were extremely helpful, making restaurant recommendations and even arranging to ship some items home for us.
On the down side, the room was sad. It had a very musty smell. The carpet was very old and worn with some completely bare spots and old cigarette burns (non-smoking room). The worst part was the shower (all tile stand-up shower, no tub) -- lots of black mold in the shower grout -- I wore flip-flops in the shower and tried not to touch any of the walls. That was a real shame, given that a few squirts of Tilex would solve that problem.
I was disappointed in the room overall. I really don't mind staying at a place that has some age on it (out-of-style furnishings, tile, etc) as long as it is clean. Unfortunately, the Pinecrest Inn (well-meaning and helpful desk staff aside) didn't rise to that basic level. I won't be staying again.
