“Great apartments”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

Spent five days here with a friend, very helpful staff on reception on arrival the lady gave us a map of the lido pointing out local supermarket, three goods restaurants all of which we tried and were very good (gran viale, al passetore and dandria) advised us which was best waterbus to San Marco. Breakfast was good, continental style and apartments spacious with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, lounge area and roof terrace. Couldn't have wished for a better stay in Venice.

Its tricky to find the entrance but thats the only fault we found! Stayed in a 2 bed apartment on a room only basis. Late rooms offer a deal without breakfast. Very clean and comfortable with just the right amount of space and a well stocked mini kitchen if you fancy cooking. Around 10 min walk to water bus stop and then a 20 min water taxi to San Marco stop but it was worth the journey to escape the mass crowds and high restaurant prices. Also only a stones throw to the beach.

Many people visit Venice and never even visit the Lido or the beach resort. Well, I stay on the Lido and don't visit the beach resort! Seriously, if you have young children, you have the sand and sea on the one hand and boats to the historic isle 400 yards the other. This wonderful landscaped self catering area is sheer bliss (out of the main season anyway - might get a bit crowded with children then) with lots of space, including living and cooking room area and large bedrooms with en-suite bathroom. There is even an extra bedroom and bathroom if you are a larger unit than two. Also if you are on the ground floor you have garden area to yourself and if in upper room you get a large open area poking out of the roof with seating for four and great views. Can't think of anything against this place (been twice!) but I suppose it is a ten minute walk to the boats which take about 5 minutes getting to the main island, so if your stay is short you might prefer to be able to just step out into the mayhem. For me, though, the luxury of having somewhere so dreamy to come back to for a break or two makes a venice trip so totally without stress.

Room Tip: Just choose between outside grass seating or top of the roof seating. Both great.

Stayed here for 4 nights post-cruise for a bit of relaxation after a fairly hectic Med and Adriatic cruise and couldn't have chosen a better spot. Very helpful staff and within easy reach of the shops, restaurants and other facilities on the Lido and only a 10 minute walk to the vaparetto station to allow for trips across to Venice. Our ground floor apartment was clean, everything worked and was equipped with enough to allow for self-catering. We were B&B and the choice at breakfast was more than adequate - cereals, pastries, croissants, fruit, cheese, cold meat, juice, coffee etc all served pool side. (There is an indoor breakfast room if the weather isn't so good). Our apartment's outside space of a private garden with umbrella, table and chairs was a real bonus in the hot weather although it did seem strange that there appeared to be only one sun lounger per apartment. (In fairness there were plenty around the pool area). The Lido itself was a very pleasant area to meander around having tree-lined streets and canals and also longer walks to both ends of the island if you're feeling energetic. We only did the walk one way, along to Malamocco, via a pathway running alongside the back of the beach for the most part. Not sure how busy things get in high season - the beach area is only across the road from the apartments - but when we were there (9-12 Sep) it was all very peaceful. Would definitely go back as both the apartment and the Lido was everything we had hoped for. One final tiny, tiny point - don't be put off if you arrive (as we did) at what we assumed was the correct place as there was a sign on the wall with Le Ville del Lido on it, only to be met with a green garden gate type entrance with quite forbidding "Private Property", "No Entrance" signs on it. It is unlocked and just pushes open and is indeed the entrance to the apartments. We spent quite a long time trying to find another more hotel-type entrance getting hotter and hotter as time went on......

Nice Apartments with a bit of outside space for each.
Ours on the Ground floor came with table and chairs, should you want outdoors meals and not want to go to a Restaurant nearby.
Working showers and a kitchen.
The only minor grumble was that we were warned that we would be charged extra if we did not clean our kitchen properly when leaving, although surfaces etc were greasy when we arrived,
which we told them about.
Having just spent almost 3000 Euros in advance for the flat, being told about the extra charge immediately on arrival, was probably not the most sensible way to greet guests.

Lido Suite Residence is about 10/15 minutes walk from the Public boats arriving from Venice or the airport.
2 Minutes from the Beach.

Nice Swimming pools and deck chairs.
Plus showers.

Reasonable breakfast which is quite a lot extra on top of the price of the accommodation and
something cooked would be a nice addition. Not currently available.
They have automatic machines for coffee and Orange Juice(Not recommended) but will
give you better coffee on request.
Breakfast includes Drinks,Croissant,Salami, cheese etc and served next to their swimming pools.

Icecream and Snacks available throughout the day by asking at the reception.

Note Le Ville Del Lido attracts families with lots of children which it is ideal for.

We spent 3 nights at Ville Del Lido and wished it had been longer. Great accommodation in a 2 bedroomed apartment. very clean and tidy, with a strong Venetian theme. Having a swimming pool was one of the reasons we chose VDL, plus whilst we didn't want to stay in Venice, we wanted to be close by. We weren't disappointed on either front. 2 mins to beach, 10 mins walk to the Vaparetto stop and 20 mins to St Marks. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Would definitely stay at VDL again.

Loved this hotel!
Staff were amazing, pool private and secluded.
The room was beautiful!
Would definitely stay here when I return to Venice.
I wouldn't buy into the breakfast however as a nearby supermarket and the facilities in your room would surpass what was on offer.

Room Tip: They all looked good!
