“Ciao Bella”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

Three night break booked through Broadway Travel. First trip to Venice so first trip to Lido. Off the water bus & two minute walk to hotel. Prompt service at Reception and a room on the 1st floor. Room European size but very hot. No kettle. Bathroom good with plenty of towels. 1st night had awful night sleep owing to heat in the room. My husband complained & we were moved to a fantastic room with balcony, double the size & a big bathroom. Breakfast ok, plenty of food and staff helpful.
Simone & Roberto on Reception doing a fantastic job, nothing too much trouble. Thanks guys. Would go back again with out a doubt. Oh Supermarket right next door which is helpful.
Excellent value.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in Lido di Venezia. We booked on a great deal through Broadway Travel. At first I thought it would be a cheap & cheerful hotel as the deal was so good. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to see a lively area with good shops and cafe's & smack dab in the middle Le Boulevard Hotel. it's only a 20 minute water bus ride from St Marks & the hotel is only a 3 minute walk from the water bus stop! The staff were friendly & very helpful. Our room was quite hot - reception said that the heating was timed & would go off later. When we returned & retired for the evening the room was still very hot, a radiator in the bathroom was on & could not be turned off. I complained the next morning as we had a tough time sleeping with the heat. Simone on the desk was very understanding, we left our cases packed in our rooms and upon our return in the afternoon we had moved to another room on the same floor. This room was much better as its radiator could be turned off, so we could sleep at room temperature. It was on the front of the Hotel with a balcony. Someone else on here has mentioned noise, but I didn't notice any noise - in fact Lido is very tranquil. So our hats are off to Simone & Roberto on the desk!! Breakfast was more than adequate & any questions on things to do were answered well by the afore mentioned lads on the desk.
in summary - for a hotel in this price range, Le Boulevard Hotel is more than recommended. Just about to write a review on Lido now - if I ever go back to Venice I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: If your on the first floor try & get an external walled room, internal room that we had at first...

This hotel on the Lido we found to be in an excellent location on a lovely island away from the main part of Venice, but with excellent transport links, and many different water taxis to take you across the water. The hotel itself is a couple of minutes walk from the vaporetta stop and is positioned on the main street with lots of different bars, restaurants and shops.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was a reasonable size and clean. The bathroom again very clean with plenty of towels. The shower was a little awkward as positioned in the centre of the bath above a shelf. The water temperature definitely fluctuated it seemed by how many people might be showering at the same time (not in the same shower!!!) - one second it was freezing and the next scalding hot water. I do not like shower curtains either, but this is a personal thing as I do not think they are very hygienic. The bed was comfortable with plenty of additional blankets and pillows. However due to the wooden floorboards it was noisy and you could easily hear people from the floor above walking around, or dancing & singing at 02:30 in the morning as we witnessed!

Breakfast was much more than expected with the standard continental breakfast but also bacon, eggs etc. Coffee slightly disappointing as from a machine instead of being served fresh. Italian coffee is normally lovely so this was a shame. However, if you wanted to eat enough to fill yourself up all day then you could certainly do that. There were enough staff clearing tables & refilling food platters so that there was more than enough for everyone.

Overall I would rate the hotel as 3 Star rather than 4 Star, due to the decor and lack of touches but it is in an excellent location, good breakfasts, clean and helpful staff.

Enjoy.

We arrived and yes central location on the Lido, near the buses, and vaperetto water taxi,
The room was on the 3rd floor,e porter took our bags to our room, with was a corner room bit of an odd shape ?! Ad a dark peachy/orange colour and the curtains were old infant the who.e of e hotel could have done with a bit of an overhaul!!! But nether the less the bed was clean and comfy the temperature of the room was warm and the bathroom clean and lots of towels,

We had booked for 4 nights here, on our 1st morning we went to breakfast...which to say the least was not the best intact the only thing that was good was the cup of tea I made myself, orange juice was yuck, coffee was yuck cossiont's were disgusting infact we never ate breakfast here again I would not even class it as continential!!!

When we returned on our 2nd night we was asked if we could move to another hotel as our room was going to be needed for redecoration?(did they read our minds?) we said yes once they told us it was near the grand canal! Woohoo (read at the bottom) having travelled in feb it was quiet but lovely I could imagine in summer it heaving

the billa supermarket is well placed on the corner so we could buy orange juice , water etc.

To be a 4* I think you have to have certain things in the room?? Fridge(mini bar)which was in the room BUT a kettle, with tea/coffee etc was not?? and the breakfast needs to be looked at !!!

Room Tip: Don't choose this hotel if you want 4* but if you do any room will do! The corner one we had was...

Le Boulevard Hotel...definitely not a 4* Hotel. Stayed here for two nights at the beginning of March 2013. The Hotel’s location is perfect for visiting Venice as it’s located a few minutes walk from Lido Waterbus Station and the Hotel decor gives you a nice Venetian feel on entry. Stayed in Room 135 on the first floor. The bed was extremely firm...and felt like I could have been sleeping on a bare floor! The bathroom has a facial tissue holder but with no facial tissues; instead it is filled with a couple of packets of handkerchief tissues!!...and even on request for a box of facial tissues, the hotel is unable to provide. The rooms are equipped with a Minibar-fridge but no kettle or coffee/tea making facilities. Breakfast at Hotel Le Boulevard is of very pour quality and selection. The croissants are very pastry-tasting. The toaster-grill needs replacing, as even on the highest setting it does not even slightly warm the slices of bread, let alone brown the bread! (only white low-cost bread was available). The selection of juices are not fresh and are from a self-serve machine made up of concentrated-flavoured liquid and water...same with the coffee and hot chocolate. Hotel Le Boulevard provided the worse breakfast that I have ever experienced from a Hotel. The bar at the hotel closes at 8pm...even on a Saturday night! Hotel Le Boulevard...most definitely not a 4* Hotel.

I have stayed at another Hotel in Venice (3* hotel) on two previous visits and received a very much better all round service and stay.

Excellent, clean and comfortable. Simon, & Lucas in reception and Deep, the barman were fantastic. good fun and very helpful. Really enjoyed our stay.
Hotel well situated, near the water bus station and near the main street, with restaurants and shops near by. It was nice to return after hectic days out sightseeing in Venice. Lido was calmer, and better value for money.

Room Tip: Breakfast could be better organised, food was good. Tables should be laid
