“Nice room but noisy and no service at all”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2011

We chose this villa because of its typical flair. The only sleeps 2 room is right at the entrance, which means you will get all the noise of late homecomers. The bathtub was missing the plug and the window sills were moldy. Breakfast consists of very dry and old breads, not much choice in cheese or else. On top of that, any question asked was commented with a grunty "hmmm" noise. It was my boyfriends birthday, so I had bought a surprise cake. The owner said its OK to put it into the breakfast room fridge. After serving it I stored the leftovers in the same fridge. The blonde elder breakfast-lady yelled at me for touching the fridge and an hour later half the cake was thrown out. I will never, ever step foot into this dorm again!!!

Room Tip: only upstairs rooms are good, sleeps 3 min.

For some reason I booking was overruled with a new one. The owner blames the system!!!??? Very bad service and I don't want to stay there for a second!

Dear Sir,

of course we grant all our reservations, but in order to guarantee the reservation we need a valid credit card number! If the card number does not work for guarantee (to make a preauthorisation on the card), then we contact the client immediately (also 2-3 times) in order to send us another card number! If there is no response to all our requests, and we have never got any direct contact of the client, then unfortunately we cannot guarantee the reservation as there are so many fake reservations through internet!
Best regards

We went to Villa Albertina for the Venice Carnaval.

Nice:
- you can avoid the noise of Venice and stay at Lido - it is quiet
- nice walks at the beach and the winter sun
- nice breakfast

No good:
- staff is not going to go an extra mile to make the customer happy...they actually couldn't be bothered less. Having a guesthouse is clearly a revenue for the owners and not a passion and while we cannot really complain by anybody being particularly rude to us we cannot say anything nice about the service either.
- quite old fashioned rooms

If staying at Lido and want to go to a restaurant to go AI MURAZZI!!! EXCELLENT food and service if you like the simple but soulful style of food...

I have staied with some friends at Villa Albertina this summer in August.
We had 3 different rooms which were very clean and spacious. The Hotel has a parking in the garden so we had no problem travelling with the car and we didn't have to look for a parking every time we moved it.
Breakfast is good: fresh coffee, juice, croissants, bread with butter, marmaleds etc every morning.
Staff is very welcoming and we want to give a special thanks to Andrea, who gave us interesting and very appreciated advice about where to eat, where to go and what to do.
I would definitely come back again and suggest this Hotel to my friends!

If you have to, stay at this hotel one night, not more. Price-quality ratio is very poor in Villa Albertina. This hotel was advertised as a small family hotel, so it was amazing, how unfriendly the service was. Owners were extremely cold, greedy and not interested in our well-being, though we were their guests (noticed this same complaint in other reviews of this site as well). The only friendly person of Villa Albertina was the lady of the house, but she was seldom there to serve guests and couldn't save the experience. As we checked in, we felt not at all welcome. Man at the reception just noted that his shift ends now and we should ask the old lady (who didn't speak English), if we need anything. He didn't even give us the remote controller for air-conditioning. We tried to get it work, after which I went down and found out, we need a remote controller. Sheets were missing on some days, so we had to ask for them separately. On our first morning I kindly asked, where the nearest beach is - which road is best to take. The owner of the place started to shout at me - how they "have 13 kilometres beach here, where do you want to go?!!" Well, I just wanted to hear, how we reach the nearest beach. If we asked for something, the owners immediately asked for money, before delivering the service, water or whatever. It was strictly forbidden to bring own drinks to the hotel (because owners wanted to have that money as well). At breakfast, we had to pay for hot chokolate for our son. Normally, you have hot chokolate at breakfast for free. Also, there were no vegetables at breakfast - never, we stayed for almost two weeks. When we left, they didn't even say goodbye, not to mention thanking or asking, if we enjoyed our stay. I guess they saw the discomfort on our faces and didn't want to hear any criticism. And yes, we enjoyed our stay in Venice very much, but not the hotel.

Do not book for more than 1 day for this hotel or use travel insurance. Because of the volcano eruption I was not able to get flights and the hotel booked off the full amount even before end of the reservation period. On the phone they were totally ignorant and unfriendly about my discomfort in the situation. It took a lot of persuasion to obtain some discount on a next visit. The responsible at check in just laughed us in the face when asking which company is servicing a Venice- Padova trip, while actually there exists one. The breakfast is good, only accompanied by a noisy radio station.

Very nice and peaceful family hotel, located at the island of Lido, in Venice. The villa is a beautiful building, with a nice yard with jasmine and lots of parking space. It is also close to the beach and the buildings of the Venice Film Festival. The bus station to the vaporetto is near. There are some pizzerias, tobacco-shops and mini-markets around.
Surrounding and other villas are beatifull and make a very pretty and luxurious scenery and atmosphere.
The service was very friendly, I have no remarks on house-keeping (we stayed for 2 nights and they cleaned our rooms each day), breakfast or anything else.
They even prepared our last breakfast earlier specially for us - we had to leave at 7 AM and it was ready.
Cost of rooms is very adequate.
Lido is the best choice to stay in Venezia - costs are great and the place is magnificent - can not compare with simple mainland (Mestre) which has no charm at all. And Villa Albertina is one of the best villas there.
I recommend this place with no remarks!
