“LOVELY STAY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2014

This hotel on the Lido is a 3 star hotel, but the rooms are quite spacious and very clean. They have water Taxis outside their door, but are expensive, we travelled by the Ferry to and from the Lido and its more affordable. The staff at this hotel are very helpful and they serve a continental breakfast which is very nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone trying to save their pennies. Venice is the most wonderful destination and there is so much to see, I would gladly visit again anytime

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet but some do have a musty smell, so if this is the case ask to change and they do...

Sorry to disagree with the previous comments, but after booking this Hotel through Booking.Com we decided to book a penthouse suite, we thought it was worth paying the extra after looking at the Penthouse Suite rooms. But when we arrived we were given a different Penthouse room to the one's advertised (please look at phot's) we thought the hotel was full so we just put up with it. The room was small and tired no large balcony. We noticed that the 2 middle rooms which are small were occupied by English and the 2 large corner rooms were occupied by french ?. When we got home we complained to Booking.Com as we had booked this room after seeing the picture's on their website. They kept speaking to the hotel, who just came up with excuses, Booking.Com would not agree that the room was definitely not a penthouse it was a poor rooftop room. Also the breakfast was poor when we got home and read the reviews on Trip Advisor we noticed some people had meat and cheese, The first morning we had no meat or cheese just croissants and tinned mixed fruit and boiled eggs that were rock hard, I like hard boiled eggs but these were like bullets, on the second day we had rolls which were solid you needed a strong knife to cut them and cheese triangles and bullet eggs and tinned fruit. We travel a lot but this is the worse breakfast we've ever eaten. Defiantly would not stay here again. We will never trust Booking.Com again you can get good deals by booking direct with the hotel.

Room Tip: Don't book the penthouse unless your sure of the room your going to be given

Spent a week there with the wife and kids ( boy 13, girl 10 ) in mid August. We booked a family room and I was expecting a claustrophobic room with beds everywhere. I couldn't have been more wrong. It was more of a suite - spotless with 2 large bedrooms with a four poster in one and 2 twins in the other. They were separated by a passage which led to the bathroom so there was a degree of privacy. There were 2 huge French windows with heavy wooden shutter which kept the rooms cool during the day but were nice to throw open and look down on to the quiet street and canal below.
The continental breakfast was simple but excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
A few minutes from the water bus stop and the beach and loads of restaurants, bars and beach shops.

Room Tip: The floor plan on each floor suggested there were about 3 similar rooms to the one we had.

We thoroughly recommend this hotel if visiting Venice. The hotel is situated just off the main street in the Lido with plenty of restaurants, bars, shops etc... nearby. The water taxi station is an easy five minute walk from the hotel and the beach is about the same distance the other way. The hotel is clean and the room we stayed in was a good size. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast had a good range of things to eat and drink. The only gripe we had was that the shower was not very good. It was a bit weak and the temp control was very binary (only hot or cold). We only stayed three nights. If we were to stay any longer then this may of been more of an issue.

So many great reasons to stay here. Situated in a quiet back street by a picturesque canal, you get to this hotel on a small car ferry which gives you stunning views of Venice. The hotel has plenty of parking and the staff are helpful, the rooms are clean; we had a faultless stay. The beach is a short walk away on one side of the island and the vaporetto to St Mark's square a short walk away on the other side.

The hotel itself has a great deal of charm- a grand old building with shuttered windows updated with air conditioning and modern bathrooms. Breakfast was simple and plentiful. All in all, we were delighted and would thoroughly recommend the Atlanta Augustus as a base for exploring Venice

nice hotel, friendly staff. We arrived early in the morning and our room was ready around 1pm which was great. Daily cleaning was really good, even better than the one before arrival.
Breakfast was nothing special but fine.
We paid extra for the room with balcony which was really perfect!!!
Highly recommend this hotel :)

Room Tip: room with balcony facing to the canal - # 107 - very nice room
