I'm still recalling all of the great memories of our recent trip to Red Horse Mountain. Yes, it's exactly as they say it is in the video on their website. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Amazing for families since it has a great kids program with loads of activities even for the 4 year olds. My kids are 7 and 9 and they had a blast. Very clean cabins! It seemed like every time we left someone came in to straighten the cabin and provide additional towels. They even have complementary laundry service where they will wash and fold your clothes. The best thing is that cell phones and blackberry's don't work on the ranch so it's a great place to relax. They do have WIFI service in the library if you are hard pressed and need an internet fix. Most meals are family style and some of the meals the kids really weren't interested in (they did have cereal available when that became a problem). However, I did notice that my kids were sampling many foods they typically wouldn't eat so that's a good thing. The staff have you fill out a questionnaire prior to arrival where you can let them know about dietary restrictions/allergies. It seemed that they were very good about making certain that everyone was happy however, this is a place where they are limited unless they know in advance what your requirements are. Overall the food was amazing and the bread and muffins were to die for....they even had a 7 course candlelight dinner one night for the adults while they took the kids for a campfire dinner. Everyday, you got to plan your activities based on several options. You can always participate in the kids activity or venture off to do your own activity. They have a kindergarten teacher who runs their kids program and the kids really loved her. Horseback riding is a must and they teach you everything you need to know. Lessons are available at an extra cost if you want more one on one attention. However they have a great orientation prior to having you get on a horse so I would suggest that before spending the money for a lesson. Overall, a great family vacation and I would highly recommend this type of get-a-way for families and couples.
