A group of us booked an early-season package through the Grand Targhee reservations and decided to upgrade from the hotel offered in the package (and paid more) to stay at Teton Creek Resort. One of the big selling points was a hot tub and the proximity of our room to the hot tub. We were super stoked.
Upon our evening arrival, we unloaded our bags and the first thing we did was run down to the hot tub location, only to be greeted by a sign that read, "Closed for Seasonal Maintenance." I called to find out what the deal was and left a message with the rental property as well as calling the line that I made the reservation with. After multiple attempts to talk to a human, I finally got someone who apologized and told us that it wouldn't be open until Dec. 15. Why, if we booked our trip from Dec. 2-6, would we be sold on the idea of a hot tub? The woman I spoke to told me she would get back to me regarding how they would make it up to us. That was over 6 weeks ago. I have left multiple messages for them and have heard NOTHING in return.
Luckily, a woman from the hotel at the base of Grand Targhee was sympathetic and gave us keys to the hot tub there. We were thankful for the gesture but it wasn't enough to make up for up-selling us from one hotel to another.
The accommodation was good, tight for 5 of us but made it work. We loved having our own kitchen and living room which was a big plus to this place over the other we considered. Could have used more supplies...we booked for 5 people and there were only 4 towels for 5 nights.
