I have to say the front desk person was very helpful, friendly, etc. The room was tired - a lot of furniture crammed into room, but it was pretty darn clean, and beds were double sheeted - with 4 pillows per bed, including one down/feather per. Mundane cookies at front desk in evening, and according to desk person, PB&J sandwiches around midnight. I guess for a pick-me-up if you've been touring the swinging night life of Coeur d'Alene.
Breakfast was nothing like previous writer noted - no breakfast sandwiches - but there were sad little apples, nice bananas, 3 cereals. The usual waffles, decent cake doughnuts, yogurt, oatmeal, and boiled eggs for the low-carbers among us.
The reason for the middling rating is 1) smoky, smoky, smoky. This is actually a non-smoking hotel, but some loser who checked in couldn't bear to at least crack his window and blow the smoke out! I'm not an anti-smoking nut, but the smell was really pervasive in corridors, and it bothers my asthmatic daughter. Front desk person said they couldn't actually knock on doors and do something, and I do understand, but it did affect our enjoyment of stay, and therefore our rating.
2) Place seemed a bit overpriced for what we got - not totally unreasonable, the room just seemed a bit shabby. Location is very convenient - right off freeway.
