This used to be THE place for celebratory meals with visitors, family, and friends. Even though we arrived at an early hour with a reservation and there were many window tables open, we were seated jammed in next to a large party that was just arriving. We asked the busser to be reseated one table over, and were accommodated (and happily got out of the other party's way!) The restaurant view over the water is always a treat, but the "new" salad bar is a big disappointment. It has very few items left on it, no soup, and can no longer be considered a special restaurant feature. Likewise the bread loaf has now been replaced by squishy store-type rolls. Two of our party had the scallops with mashed potatoes and green beans. One plate arrived at room temperature (but with the scallops cold), the other plate was tepid overall, and on both plates the scallops were actually raw inside. The mashed potatoes were sticky, and seriously resembled the instant variety. There was supposed to be an accompanying sauce but it was barely apparent. We had to send a member of our party to the hostess to request that our waitress return to our table. She took the 2 plates away with little apology, and soon returned with THE SAME PLATES (not fresh ones) that were little improved if any! She then never checked on us again until she brought the (large!) bill. No adjustment or visit from the manager, or even a kind word. Even though the location is just as lovely as always, we will not be back.
