“Where It Feels Like Home, Only Better....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

My husband and I needed to go to CDA for a weekend, and we enjoy taking a long afternoon on Sherman Ave-hit a pub, shop, have dinner, check out our favorite stores, stop at the wine bar...So I decided to try to find an intimate place within walking distance. Big Score! This inn is so sweet, so comfortable, so welcoming, just so darn perfect. I am not gushy, but when they greet you and ask if you would like some warm bread pudding with caramel sauce, as soon as you arrive, then you walk in your room and the bed is turned down and there are chocolates on your pillow, it IS better than home.
The staff was wonderful, giving us tours, then letting us take friends around, adjusting the wine reception to start an hour early for us since we had dinner reservations, it just went on and on. Really just can't say enough.
If you like historic, and you want people to be glad you came to stay, this is a terrific option.
Well done, all the way through! I was so sad to leave.

Room Tip: Upper floors have lovely views, but really every room we went into was well appointed in either tape...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately, we were on vacation the week you were here and didn’t have a chance to meet you in person, but it makes us happy to hear that our staff did such a great job in our absence. WE are so proud of them!!!

We are glad you liked the wine reception. That is something we started this year showcasing local specialty wines and foods. It helps to know that we are on the right track when we get positive feedback like this. The bread pudding reception and turndown service with chocolates has been a standard at the Roosevelt since we started in 1997.

Please come back so we have a chance to meet in person.

Sincerely,

Tina

Stayed one weekend while you were on vacation! Sorry we did not get the chance to meet you. Your staff was amazing! We felt like we were a very special guest. Thank you all! Jim Thank you for visiting with us and Marlena for the tour and making us feel welcome. Hope to be back sometime. Our stay was memorable. The location is great we were able to walk to a lot of venues that we had a great time at. Close to Greta food as well!

My wife and I stayed multiple nights at The Roosevelt Inn in August 2012. We were thoroughly impressed with the friendliness and competency of the owners and staff, the lovely accomodations, the excellent meals and would definitely go back again! The historical building and grounds are interesting and attractive and are only a short walking distance from the city center. If you choose to stay at The Roosevelt Inn be prepared for a delightful experience.

To book a place to stay over the Internet is not always the best choice, but here, we didn't regret anything. We were impressed by the individual decorations with lots of taste of every room. The doors of the ones not rented at the moment, were standing open, so we could get a glimps of the perfect taste of the owners. Good breakfast to start the day and walk to the center in a few minutes. When coming back, there was coffee and cookies waiting for us the get some rest in the garden or in the comfortable and cosy room. There was one regret though: not to be able to stay longer!

We spent a night at the Roosevelt Inn and had a great time. While our room was small (we knew it would be) it was cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was tasty and the owners were very hospitable (despite our arrival just prior to a wedding!). The location is convenient to the lake and shopping. Loved the dogs!!!!

We appreciate the time you took to write such a glowing review of our Bed and Breakfast. It means a lot to us to have happy and satisfied guests. We have put our heart and souls into this great building and it makes us smile when someone else recognizes the unique character of this turn of the century schoolhouse.

P.S. Pippin and Rohan send their best wishes and hope you return soon.

My family & I stayed here for one night on our way back from Montana. Great B&B in a beautiful old school house. The service was great! We checked in and were walked to our rooms and then welcomed with a tray of homemade bread pudding, water and a rose. The location was within walking distance to the lake and main street of town. Our room was on the small side, but just right for my husband & I for one night. They even have a turned down service and left chocolates on our pillows.

Breakfast was great - fresh fruit, waffles, scones and homemade jam plus their daily special.

Would have loved to spend more time exploring Coeur d'Alene, so we'll definitely go back and hope to stay here again.

I am so glad to hear that you liked the bread pudding we delivered to your room and that you enjoyed our new breakfast offering. Please stay longer on your next journey through Coeur d’Alene. We travel a great deal for business and pleasure, and this was by far the best value of any hotel we have stayed in. Friendly service, yet unobtrusive, terrific location, very safe and clean. Beds are extremely comfy. Cookies and breakfast are delicious. We will be back!!

Thank you for your uplifting review. We strive to make every guest special. Glad you enjoyed our bottomless cookie jar and our new breakfast offerings. Our breakfast buffet came directly from the mind of world-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay. Glad you liked it!!!
