Koenig was the first Idaho winery we visited, and still a favorite place to visit.
Seven Devils Bourbon is now available, and I predict shortages will ensue. It's that good. Happened to Maker's Mark recently, and I actually like Seven Devils better.
If you're not familiar with Koenig wines, discover the Sangiovese. The 2011 has been released. Another sell-out, plan on it.
Katrina was her usual wonderful self, and helped us carry our acquisitions to the car.
Our favorites are the Riesling(s), the Syrah, Sangiovese and Ice Wine. Not to say the others aren't good.
Then there are the Vodkas, Potato and Huckleberry. And the eau de vie style fruit brandies.
Koenig produces a well-priced premium product, the people couldn't be nicer, and the setting is beautiful.
Careful Napa, don't get complacent.
