“what a great little place!!”

Harrison Plaza Suite Hotel

Sep 16, 2007

I'm surprised that anyone could stay here and give it a negative review. I just came back from 5 nights there and to me, customer service is everything and this place has loads of it. The room was nice - the woodwork frames around the mirrors, bed and desk were clean and in good shape. The bed had a pure white soft bedspread and big fluffy (and less so if you prefer those) pillows. They also had bathrobes hanging in the closets, and offered complimentary shoe shines. Breakfast each morning was continental - they had oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, canned peaches, english muffins, bananas, bagels and an assortment of sweet breads each morning. The coffee was good quality and strong. They allowed us to check in early and check out late. The absolute best part to me was they had a complimentary shuttle that would get you to and from the airport, drive you to restaurants, shopping centers, etc. The hotel is situated so that about three blocks either direction you can find many good eating and drinking establishments if you prefer to walk - we did it every day and it was an easy walk for such a big city. If the shuttle is busy they told us to get a cab and charge it to the hotel. They also have arrangements with a couple restaurants where the hotel will call in your order, and they will deliver it and charge it to the hotel and put it on your bill - which works out great if you are traveling for work and don't have a lot of cash left towards the end of the week! The director of guest services was a wonderful, friendly, accomodating guy and all of the desk clerk folks were great too. We even went out to dinner a few nights with some of the other guests in the hotel. If you like to stay somewhere with not all of the fancy stuff but just a down-home, cozy feel to it this is the place to go. I was sad to leave but if I ever return to Boise I will definitely be staying here again.

Through an error, I made a reservation at this hotel. Even though it was not my fault, I was charged the full amount (over $100) for 1 night at this hotel, which I didn't even get the opportunity to use. Although I made the mistake, the management was thoroughly unwilling to help reduce the fee. If you make a reservation at this hotel, they will charge you whether or not you go.

We were surprised at the size of the room we got - after developing gymnastic skills leaping around numerous tiny rooms for the rest of the trip this was a welcome surprise. There was a three seater lounge and two single chairs with a coffee table in front of the tv, and a desk and chair also. Heaps of room! Hotel was on a busy main road about a 10 minute drive from downtown, however the traffic calmed down after peak hour and did not really bother us. The indoor pool was pleasant but unheated and far too cold to swim in. Breakfast was a basic affair poolside. Haven't any of these places heard of fresh fruit?? Free internet access was gratefully appreciated, a rarity in any hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly, parking was on site and no problem. For $117 AUD this was good value, and surpassed many more expensive hotels we stayed in.

“Don't Pass This One By!”

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for over two weeks due to space limitations at our relative's home and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff was very friendly and accommodating--going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We requested a microwave and refrigerator and it was there waiting for us upon our arrival. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room--more than generous! The hotel had just undergone interior rennovations which are very tasteful and pleasing to the eye. It is not a big, splashy hotel but rather an intimate and a comfortable one. Shopping and restaurants are a max five-minute drive away. Don't pass this one by!!

“Quite Pleased - Undiscovered Gem”

Harrison Plaza Suite Hotel

My wife & I stayed here for 5 days, and I am pleasantly surprised. The outside of the hotel is a bit out of date, but everything through the front door is excellent. The staff is very friendly & helpful and the interior is very cozy and quiet. There is a nice pool in the atrium for morning laps - not terribly long but you can get good exercise. If you really want to swim laps or work out, hotel guests can use a great health club just over a mile away. Complimentary breakfast is served every morning in the atrium. High speed internet access is free in the rooms, and I'm able to access my office, much to my wife's chagrin. The hotel is sort of between downtown and the airport, so I would stay here on business next time I'm in town.

Nice job!
