“Nice Dog-Friendly Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

Warm, friendly and helpful staff were attentive to our requests.
The Sandbar was convenient, full of friendly people and was pet friendly. The service was good and the food was reasonably priced. Finger steaks were tender and the sauces provided really enhanced the flavor.
Breakfast buffet was included and the food was great... especially the Riverside bacon. Mmm... Breakfast also included bottomless mimosas.
The hotel is located on the Greenbelt which made it convenient for taking walks along the river. A short walk to the Wave Park provided entertainment watching surfers and river rafters ride on the constant wave created by the flow of the river over the break.

Hello Nickski1,
I am glad you and your 4-legged friend got to enjoy our dog friendly hotel and restaurant. I think The Riverside is the perfect spot for those traveling with pets. Since the hotel is located on 14 acres, we have plenty of space to walk Fido. We make it easy by placing our guests with pets in rooms with sliding glass doors and easy access to the walking path.
I am also happy you enjoyed the finger steaks. They are certainly popular. Oh, and the breakfast buffet is a fantastic way to start your day. You and I think alike when it comes to the Riverside bacon. I could eat the entire pan myself. Mmmm is right.
Thank you for staying with us. We hope to be able to welcome you back again soon.

Food, room and decor were outstanding. Music though was just so so both outside and in the bar. Nice touch a wild flower pack that can be planted at home!! Warm cookies on check in.

Food was excellent. All employees were polite, helpful and motivated No slackers here!

Internet was included in teh package.

Thank you for your review. I agree The Riverside does have a great location. Right by the Boise River and just minutes away from downtown with complimentary parking. I am glad you noticed how hard the staff works. We really do have great employees here. Please come back and listen to the music again. We have different bands every night and we try to rotate so we have a variety of music. Everyone has different tastes but we do enjoy getting feedback from our guests. If you would like to make specific suggestions about what kind of music you would like to hear, please email me at Kathy.pidgeon@riversideboise.com and I will pass the information along to the people who book the music.
We look forward to welcoming you back.

We decided to go for our anniversary and used their promotional deal the stay cation package they actually double booked it 1st then it took over 20 min to check in at 1145 pm.
The package we booked was for 149, at time.of check out we spent over 240. Then we get into our room from a very long day and the A/C isn't working.
The pool and grill were a plus and the service was great

Hello Clowzer,

Happy anniversary! I am glad you were able to spend that special day at The Riverside. The staycation is a great way to relax and get away from it all with the room and the food and beverage credits. I know the billing can be somewhat confusing at hotels with the tax and the authorization for incidentals. Our records show that your authorization for the incidentals was removed at check out. If that is not the case, please let me know and we will certainly be happy to correct that for you. I apologize for the problems with the air conditioning. Thank you for making us aware of that situation, our maintenance department will look into that right away.

Loved the location and the service at the hotel. The room was immaculate as well as the pool which was beautiful outdoor venue. Salt water pool a real plus as well as the Sand Bar near by with live music. The morning buffet with custom Omelets was superb and added to the wonderful value of the hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms around the pool on main floor had outside access to the pool.

Hello Bonnie B.
We are so glad you had an enjoyable time at The Riverside. This hotel really is a perfect location for those that want to experience the great outdoor activities in Idaho. Whether visiting the White Water Park just minutes away or walking on the Greenbelt or enjoying the beautiful sunshine by our large saline pool, The Riverside has a lot to offer. We do like to feature the local musicians so I am happy you enjoyed the music at The Sandbar patio restaurant. Perhaps you should try our Sapphire room for a concert next time you are at the hotel. It is a great listening room where you can enjoy the music and have dinner and drinks.
We hope to be able to welcome you back soon.

I stayed at the Riverside Hotel at the beginning and end of a rafting trip. The property is nicely landscaped, with the rooms surrounding a central courtyard where the pool and an outdoor bar and grill are. The courtyard opens up to a river walkway. The outdoor bar and grill was very good. Musicians were great, drinks were excellent, and food good. The indoor restaurant had an excellent value breakfast buffet. The rooms were clean and the beds/linens were extremely comfortable. The shuttle service was on time and a nice vehicle. The front staff were remarkably friendly and helpful. The price was no more than some other hotels, but you really got the amenities and service you would expect at a much higher cost hotel.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at The Riverside. It sounds as if you were able to enjoy many of the amenities we have added to the hotel in the last few years. You are correct, The Riverside is a great spot to relax and enjoy. We are working hard to create a resort atmosphere for our guests. Everything from drinks by the pool, an outdoor life-size chess set and even a Petanque court, the French version of Bocce Ball. There is still plenty of time to come back and relax by the refreshing pool while the weather is hot. We hope to see you again soon.

We liked the Sand Bar restaurant by the pool. Good food and good service. We also enjoyed the geese that gathered right outside of our sliding doors, eating the plums that the squirrel was trying to gather up after shaking them off the limbs of the tree.
The salt water pool was very nice - I loved that it wasn't chlorinated. The hotel was popular with young people and young families with kids so the pool was pretty crowded except early in the morning or at dinner time. A band performed live near the pool and I really could have lived without that. The hot tub was the right temperature which is rarely true I find.
The air conditioning in the meeting rooms was turned up way too high.
The rooms were average and the fitted sheet on the bed was the wrong size. It kept coming off in the night and ending up in a bunch underneath you. I asked for a chair for the ground floor patio and never got it. The aforementioned children ran up and down the hallways of the hotel, unsupervised by their parents. Not much the hotel can do about that I guess.
The walking/biking trail by the rooms is a huge plus and Boise deserves the credit for valuing parks and green areas in their city. That's the really nice thing about staying at this hotel. Don't spend much time in your room.

Thank you for your review. It sounds as if you were able to enjoy much of the nature that is right outside your door at The Riverside Hotel. The saline pool really is a plus and I have talked to many guests who like to spend a weekend at The Riverside just to swim in our beautiful pool. You are right, the hot tub is very relaxing and I am glad the temperature was to your liking. I do understand your comments about the meeting rooms being cold. Quite often when I walk into the banquet rooms, they seem chilly to me as well. When I ask about it, I am usually told the presenter wants the room kept cool. Maybe that keeps everyone awake? I agree with you that the Greenbelt is one of the gems of our city. It is so nice to have that wonderful walking/biking path just steps from the hotel. We also have bikes for rent so maybe you would enjoy a bike ride next time you are here. We look forward to welcoming you back to The Riverside.

This hotel has been nicely updated with very special amenities, bike rentals, outdoor heated pool with outdoor restaurant/bar with pool service, full gourmet breakfast buffet, and exceptional service. Our favorite hotel in Boise, and would highly recommend, a very special place.

Room Tip: love to reserve the ground level rooms that open to the pool area, very fun.

I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay at The Riverside. You are right, The Riverside truly does offer everything you need for a summer staycation. It is a great place to relax by the pool, take a walk on the Greenbelt or go for a bike ride. Afterwards, no better place to have a cool beverage and dinner than the Sandbar patio restaurant while listening to live music. The kobe beef sandwich is a personal favorite of mine and many others. We are so glad this is your favorite Boise hotel and we can't wait to welcome you back.
