We stayed at the hotel to attend a wedding in Boise. The hotel is nicely situated and our room overlooked the river and hike and bike trail. A free wired internet connection is provided in each room. The pool is very nice. The jets on the hot tub are situated too high and had the water spouting out of the tub.

The hotel is old and has a funky, mildewy odor throughout. When we arrived at our room at 3:30 p.m., a room service tray with the remains of the previous occupant's breakfast was sitting outside the door. The heat lamp in the bathroom was out; the pole lamp in the room was broken, and a couple of the lamps which were equipped with 3 way light switches only had single, low-wattage bulbs in them. The king size bed was very comfortable.

Several members of the wedding party arrived at the hotel to find the rooms they'd reserved several months earlier with two queen size beds were not available. The hotel was hosting some teen soccer clubs at the same time and had given those rooms to them.

The wedding reception was held in the grand ballroom and the facility and service were great.

Other than the reception dinner, we ate one meal (a breakfast) at the hotel. The hostess was rude. The waitress was very pleasant and kept smiling even though they were not adequately staffed and she was having to run to serve all the tables. The food was ok. The other 2 days of our stay, we hopped in the car and had breakfast at Moxie Java further down Chinden Blvd (good coffee and food, and pleasant staff).

One other very aggravating thing folks should be aware of, housekeeping at the hotel makes a very early start of cleaning the rooms. They were knocking on doors at 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. Make sure to put up the, "Privacy, Please" sign on your door if you don't want to be woken up early. Even with the sign, don't count on sleeping late because room doors could not be closed quietly and shut with a bang.

My husband and I spent 3 days at the Double Tree with a group of Air Force retirees. Our room was very nice with a balcony overlooking the courtyard and gardens. The staff at the desk that welcomed us were very helpful. However, the restuarant and banquet facilities need help. Even when we arrived and no more than 4 or 5 tables were busy you would stand for several minutes and wait for the hostess to complete lots of other duties before you could be seated at your table. The morning breakfast buffet was okay but there was no 'JUST PLAIN TOAST" only muffins or sweet rolls. The Hot items were only lukewarm. Our banquet on Saturday night was no better. While the waitstaff was always congenial the meal was only so/so. The rolls were cold, and the salmon was extremely overcooked.
Overall the hotel itself was really above average but they must do something about the restuarant.
The hotel is pretty well spread out so bring tennis shoes.

My boss chose this property for a two-day training for which I did on-site support. I was not crazy about the location within Boise (almost 2 miles from downtown), but I was very happy with the choice given the parameters.

I would hold a meeting again there because the service for the sleeping room and meeting was superior. Anything I wanted, from poly instead of feather pillows to more diet sodas for my participants, appeared within 3 minutes of my call. Staff was understanding, responsive, and friendly.

My room was near the lobby and nightclub area with a view of the highway, but noise was not a problem. I found the property to be old-around-the-edges. I'm told it's going to undergo renovation.

Unfortunately, the restaurant in the lobby area is not managed by the same staff who run the front desk and meetings because I have nothing too positive to say about it. Except that Chapala Mexican restaurant is not a far walk.

Stayed here for two nights while husband had business meetings. Rooms were large, bed was new and very comfortable. Water was hot, showers nice, free paper in the AM, I loved the shaded grounds, walking the paths, sitting by the river, the pool was delightful and I loved the sprawling floor plan. They had numerous conferences going on... but yet it felt like the place was all mine. Check out the lovely heated pool, grape arbor and gazebo. Staff was friendly and wow - they still give out hot chocolate chip cookies. It is close to downtown, a freeway exit away from the mall. Mapquest it though, cause the last few turns are a little tricky. I didn't bring a laptop along (they have in room internet) and was pleased to find an internet cafe at no charge.

Our room could have used more light, was definately aging and the carpet was plain old dirty looking. Saw an empty suite that appeared lovely from the door... so maybe part of the rooms have been redone. My husband, who was there to sleep only, found the room dissapointing. However, I would stay again gladly and it would be a great place to bring a camera for cool pics.
