“Wonderful Stay for a Large Conference”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

We just spent 7 nights here. The hotel was older and spread out, but the rooms have recently been redone. The rooms are very large, the bedding was as good as any we have had at luxury hotels. It was very quite, even though we were catty corner from a hospitality area. The grounds were beautiful with the leaves in full color and georgeous rose beds all around. They had a fire pit on the back patio which many folks gathered around. A very large heated pool outside that was well used even in late October. An outdoor bar and grill, "the Sand Bar" sat out near the pool. They had live music, and very reasonably priced sandwiches. The brisket sandwich was the most tender and flavorful I have ever had. Fries were great, but huge servings made them friend friendly. The bar seemed to be a favorite with locals, as we saw up to 20 bikes parked in front at a time. Dog friendly hotel, with a lot in residence while we were there, but all seemed very well behaved. The resturant food was good, a little pricey. The breakfast buffet with fresh fruit and cooked to order omlets was a real treat. The rooms were a distance from where you park, which could be a concern for some. Would go back if we get back to Boise.

Had a great stay at the Riverside. Room was clean, compfy and amenities were great. Staff was friendly and curtious. Enjoyed the live music at the Patio Bar and Grill and found the food to be top notch. Really liked the breakfast buffet. Way more than a person can eat.

Room Tip: select poolside great view

Very nice people, nice pool area, nice breakfast, nice furnishings, nice setting by the river, big room, convenient location. I would come here again. I was there for a long weekend in late September and the weather was great. The best thing about the hotel is the location next to the River and the Greenbelt.

I stayed at this hotel for most of this past month while on business at the Boise Airport. As I wasn't able to get something closer to the airport that would match the government per diem rate at the time the reservations were made, I initially ended up staying here by default. Nevertheless, let me say that I was VERY pleased with the room and the service. The room was very clean and comfortable, and all the staff with whom I came in contact were excellent! Everyone was so eager and willing to ensure that my stay was top-notch and did all they could to make my stay a pleasant one. When I requested to change rooms at one point, they made it a hassle-free experience; when I requested a refrigerator and microwave, they provided them promptly and willingly. The food and service in the indoor restaurant as well as at the patio cafe were very good. Joe's Crab Shack is located right next door. The hotel's location right on the beautiful Boise River Greenbelt walking and bicycle path is definitely a plus! The swimming pool is clean and a great place to relax. Live music by local musicians is performed every evening next to the pool. The conference center at the hotel is second to none. Given the opportunity to visit Boise again, this hotel would be my first choice!

Room Tip: While I loved being in an upper-level room overlooking the pool, it may be just a bit noisy for thos...

Great place for a conference. Food & beverage service very accommodation to those of us with food allergies (gluten). Made attending the conference easy instead of what I was going to do for food during the lunch speakers. Thanks for making it worry free.

My wife and I stayed here two nights on business and were pleased with the facilities. While it is definately an older hotel (carpeting needs to be replaced and interior decorating updated) it is a reasonably good value. Our business rate was $99 per night plus taxes, but we enjoyed the very clean pool and hot tub, nightly with almost no additional hotel guests. The businiess lounge is available using your room key with internet access, printing and a small, although not private, meeting area. There is a poolside pub with live music in the evening and a small restaurant off the lobby area. While we did not eat in either one, the food was reported to be good. There is only one elevator, which meant lugging bags up the stairs to our second floor room. I would suspect anyone with disabilities would be given a ground floor room.

The hotel's location for access to the highway for westbound travel to the local mall (approximately 1-2 miles away) is easy. Most interesting, however, is the access to the 35 mile paved river trail that sits between the hotel and the Boise River. Approximately 150 yards downstream is the city's newly constructed (June 2012) river recreation area, which allows for kayaking and body boarding on a man-made perpetual wave. Although we did not participate due to time, a local water sports shop rents gear within the park. Most of the people having fun were wearing wetsuits, but quite a few wore regular swimsuits. Regardless, we thought it was a unique feature of the area and a plus to the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a riverview.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the pool and sandbar. Alas, both are now closed for the Winter. Come back and see us in Late Spring (or earlier if the weather turns) to enjoy both again!
