“Decent location but small rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

This hotel is not exactly downtown as the name says. It is more like ~1 mile from downtown, so either a short drive or longer walk. Still, there are some decent restaurants nearby and Whole Foods will be open across the street in the near future. The property is older and the rooms are quite small. There is no breakfast included but there is a small cafe in the lobby. Food choices are limited though.

Instead of this hotel, I would suggest SpringHill Suites by Mariott Boise Park Center. For the same price, SpringHill has larger rooms, included breakfast, newer property, direct access to the Green Belt and without the parking problems found at the downtown location. There are also restaurants nearby. It is however about another mile further away from downtown (but still a short drive).

Room Tip: Consider getting a room away from the football stadium, especially if it is a game night. Note that...

There was a lot going on in Boise during my first night's stay, so the hotel, which shares a parking lot with 2 fast-food restaurants, was packed with Chick Fil A traffic, game traffic and hotel guests. The property is not in the heart of downtown Boise, but it is close enough for a long walk or a short drive. The rooms are standard Courtyard rooms, but the walls seem thin as I heard a lot of outside noise from the game (although my room faced a courtyard) and guests walking on the floor above me.

I checked out on a Saturday morning at 7:00 am and the bistro had not opened by that time, so I was unable to purchase any breakfast or coffee. Additionally, there was no one available at the front desk at that time.

If you're looking for a decent hotel with complimentary WiFi, then this property will do the job.

Room Tip: Choose a room far away from the football field next to the hotel.

Stayed at this hotel 3 times. Every time I have been happy with room and service. Hotel is conveniently located on the edge of downtown and a 5 minute walk from Boise State University. Also offers great rates if you're visiting a student at the University, you just have to call and ask. Every time I have been here, I have been able to check in before check-in time. Also now provides a free shuttle to the airport that I don't believe it offered before.

The room had low ceilings, outdated/old carpet and was very noisy. I requested a room on the top floor but did not get it. The noise from the guests above us was loud and woke us up early. The beds are small but had good pillows. The bathroom had dirty corners around the tub and shower area. The lobby and outside areas look updated but as soon as we got into the elevator everthing was old. The decor was good but it was a little like putting make up on a pig. The location was good to attend events at BSU.

Stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Boise Downtown in August 2012 while attending a conference. The Hotel is around 15 minutes away from Boise Downtown and 10 minutes away from Boise State University Campus. The Hotel is across the street from University of Idaho.

The Hotel itself is Ok. Upon check-in a couple of towels were not clean but the carpets and beds were fine. The room itself was large and comfy. The lobby is nice and very interesting; has a european modern high-tech look. The breakfast package was a scam as the actual cost is less than the value one is charged. Nothing interesting around the hotel. I had to go downtown for a good meal at night. However, this was not an issue as Boise is pretty calm and safe.

Room Tip: Go for a high floor and stay away from first floors rooms which are around the courtyard.

This hotel is a fairly long-ish walk into downtown or a very short drive. We did both. The hotel is very nicely done with a tasteful lobby, free internet in the lobby (or the room, if you have silver status), and clean and comfortable rooms with a loveseat, giving you the chance to stretch out. I would recommend this hotel both for its location and the quality of the stay.

We stayed here for a conference downtown and the hotel was in the perfect location. It is a very nice hotel relatively clean rooms that were exactly what we needed . The bed was very comfey and their is no noise to desturb you . Having said that I'd also note that the staff cleaned well but missed hairs all over the shower and towels so it was alittile gross . When we called down to the front desk to ask for towels , they never answered . As a matter of fact we called several times through out the weekend and no one ever answered not even when we where trying to check out . So expect to do a lot of front desk visits like we did . All in all it is a very nice hotel .
