“Good value and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

We stayed here (the first night of a 10-day road trip to Utah and Grand Canyon) and got here about 9:30 p.m. We too ended up at the wrong Best Western but it was easy enough to find ours. We didn't realize how close we were to the airport until morning--had an outside entry 2nd floor room--but only heard a couple of planes during the whole stay (most when outside). In the morning, we realized we were close to a FedEx facility, but we didn't hear much from inside the room. The room was comfortable and we had a quiet AC although we didn't have to run it much except to clear out the stale air. Shower was large and looked recently rennovated and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was expanded continental with hot items (scrambled eggs and sausage) with cereals, breads, juices, yogurt, waffles etc. Since we ate later, we didn't have problems with seating but there are a few tables upstairs near the stairway and more out by the pool and of course, you could also eat in your room. Good WiFi and in spite of the morning fire alarm (didn't see any fire), we had a good stay. Reasonable price added to the value of this motel.

Room Tip: Our upstairs outside entry room was fine--visitors with issues (difficulty with stairs, noise) shoul...

Having booked this hotel site unseen on Hotwire, I didn't have a chance to read any reviews or screen it ahead of time. As several reviewers have pointed out, it is a stone's throw from the airport. But then again, so are about ten or so other hotels in Boise. And honestly, very few places in Boise are more than ten minutes away from the airport. So don't base your decision on staying at the Best Western on its proximity to the airport.

The hotel has obviously been renovated recently. You get this feeling you are staying in a motel that imagines it is a hotel. Half the rooms are inside facing an sterile atrium. The other half are outside with views of the Copper Kitchen Grill and a Denny's. We had one of the outside rooms. And though the inside rooms may get all of the lobby noise, the outside rooms get the noise of airport and other hotel patrons walking up and down the concrete balcony walkway outside the rooms.

The room was nicely decorated, but cramped. Minimal closet space is located in the dressing area outside the bathroom where the toilet and bathtub practically touch. The room included a small refrigerator, but no microwave (likely because there is not enough room). There was also an HD television mounted on the wall (again because of the lack of space). It was only viewable from the beds and not the desk area. There was essentially no sitting area other than the desk chair. They do provide free WiFi that worked well.

The air conditioner in the room was loud and turned off and on throughout the night. If that wasn't bad enough, a fire alarm went off at 8 a.m. and everyone waiting outside in the parking lot while the fire department checked the building. We were never told what the issue was. And there was no information or apology when we checked out.

The breakfast area off the lobby is cramped as well. They offer your standard bagels, waffle machines and microwave breakfast burritos as well as juice and cereal. There is very little space available to actually sit and eat the breakfast, however.

The hotel offers a tiny workout room with a basic treadmill, elliptical machine and I believe a bike. The indoor pool is large, but the water was freezing. The pool is seven feet deep at one end, so make sure you watch your small children carefully if you use it.There is a large spa that seemed to work well, however.

Overall, the hotel was so-so and would be okay for an overnight stay (we were there for three nights). But I think there are many better options available in Boise.

Room Tip: It's a crap shoot. Just choose whether you want inside noise or outside noise.

Hotel is ideal if you are flying out early in the morning. Hotel is older, but well maintained, clean, and only a 5 minute walk from the airport. A free shuttle is available if desired. Staff was extremely helpful and responded immediately to any request. The 'Kopper Kettle' is on site and available for meals. The courtesy breakfast was basic but met the needs. I will utilize this hotel again as I visit the Boise area at least quarterly. I had an exterior room facing the airport, and to some the noise might bother them. I slept well!

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, ask for an interior room.

Staying here for a week. Overall nice rooms for the money. Free continental breakfast is so so. Whatever you do, don't get an interior room by the check in desk. You get to listen to the noise desk girl talk to guests and take personal calls all stinking night.....very annoying. Almost enough to make me leave.

Room Tip: Don't choose an interior room by the check in desk and you'll be okay.

Our flight got in at 11pm and my travel companion gets motion sick on flights, so spending the night close to the airport was a must. I made the reservation online via Best Western's website on the same day we would be arriving and the cancellation policy was extremely flexible- cancel before 6pm for a full refund, not that I was expecting to need to cancel. However, upon arriving at the airport I was worried we weren't going to make it to Boise since United had a 2 hr system outage grounding all flights. I called the hotel to see what availability was for the night and if I should cancel my reservation. They said there were only a few rooms left and suggested I keep my reservation and that if I needed to cancel beyond 6pm that would be fine. Alas we made it to Boise and I called the hotel to see if the courtesy shuttles were still running. They were and it was already waiting outside the airport. Friendly staff checked us in to our room, which was exactly as described online and very clean and nice. We tried to order some late night from Dominos which was advertised in the room as "open late"- well I guess midnight for Boise is too late haha. Didn't want the 24hr Denny's across the street, but the front desk staff was kind enough to give me some cereal for my friend who wasn't feeling well. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast in the lobby, which had extensive options- fresh waffles, toast, pastries, scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, oatmeal, juice, milk, tea, coffee ect. There was a pool, hot tub, and fitness center on site and they sold cute postcards in the lobby. The normal checkout time is 1pm, which is what most other hotels would consider "late" checkout. Overall a great experience and I would definitely stay again!

The location of this hotel is great, right next to the airport and easy to get on the highway. The rooms are nothing special but they are comfortable, the beds were medium firmness, and served their purpose. We had an interior room but some rooms have an exterior entrance. Never seen a hotel with this type of layout. We used the jacuzzi every day, which was nice after a day of hiking. Both the pool and jacuzzi are indoors. The breakfast was eggs, egg whites, waffles, cereal, coffee, yogurt, sausage..a good selection to start the day. The staff was friendly and helpful. The wifi connection was strong and quick. We would stay here again but would request an interior room.

Room Tip: Request an interior room

This place is literally walking distance to the airport ( i did it in 12 mins.). Upon walking into the lobby, you'll find that it's also the interior corridor for a 2 story hotel , with lots of light, plants and stuffed comfy chairs ( It was unique enough to make me take pictures). At the far end of the lobby is the enclosed pool, hot tub and exercise room. ( The up stairs walkway can double as a walking track). As for meal choices you have a Denny's across the the street at (and get this, at ANOTHER Best Western ). On this property ( 50 FT from the north door), is a "Kopper Kettle Bar and Grill" ( Never saw one in N Fl). Here there's a good selection of beer ( including a local IPA ) . The menu was varied and had "Senior Portions" ( for people like me who can't eat as much) .My room (#173), had a mini fridge and microwave. The only down side was a room smell I couldn't immediately identify but after 2 mins. no longer noticed. If I was redesigning this place, The ONLY thing I would change is either , attach the bar /grill to the building or have a enclosed walkway between the two.

Room Tip: North side rooms are away from the airport, ( but I LIKE airports)!
