“Fondue me”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Typical fondue fare, but nice for a romantic dinner. Expect to spend some time and some cash for the experience, but always satisfied with what we get.

“Hyper expensive, old trend fondue restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

Melting pot is located in a beautiful, romantic, downtown setting. Unfortunately the food doesn't match. Perhaps if you're fixated on your date you won't notice but if you have any sense of food you will be disappointed. It's very expensive and the offerings aren't impressive. A stack of cheap bread, antipasto and berries are proffered with your own little in-table cheese fondue pot. After, you're offered a chocolate fountain to dip in. Then after your small, pathetic meal you're handed $100 check for the two of you.

“Fun for a birthday celebration”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We took our two grandchildren here on a recent trip to Boise. They were both having birthdays, one was turning 14, and one 11 so we decided to celebrate here. It was a great experience for both of them and they thoroughly enjoyed the cheese fondues we ordered. The staff was great and even placed candles I brought in a piece of cheesecake so we could sing Happy Birthday to them. The chocolate fondue was every so yummy. It is a little pricey but for a special occasion, it was worth it.

Enjoyable but dinner takes sooooo long and is sooooo expensive. Not going to be here on any kind of regular basis.

“Nice experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

This is one of those places you are glad you experienced, but probably won't go back to. First of all, it is expensive. I wish there was just a cheese and chocolate package, but sadly I did not see that. When you go with your group, you must all decide to have the same thing because you are sharing a pot.
We ordered the cheddar cheese, which was good. It is served with three types of bread, raw veggies and a Granny Smith apple. Melted cheese is delicious so that is the only thing I can say about this course. Delicious. The salads were all good as well. The main course is where I have a problem. You are boiling your meat in broth (gross!) and it takes forever to finish. I grew tired of waiting two minutes between each bite. That becomes frustrating! And it is expensive!

Luckily, they save the best for last and this lifts the mood. CHOCOLATE...yummo. We got the Turtle crunch and it was to die for. It is served with cheesecake, red velvet cake, marshmellows, fresh fruit and rice krispie treats. You leave the restaurant with a smile on your face after consuming the amazing desserts.

In all, I would go back only for the cheese and chocolate. The main course was a huge disappointment.
