“Nice little museum in a charming town.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

This was an interesting museum but the village buildings were moved to the site. See if you are going thru this area.

“Step into the past at Pioneer Village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

After walking out of the Idaho Historical Museum in the Julia Davis Park, I stumbled upon the Pioneer Village. (Located directly next to the museum)

Pioneer village shows some of the first structures in Idaho. It was amazing to see these old homes renovated, and learning information about each one on the placards located in front. It really gave me a wonderful historical image of how homes used to be. The Julia Davis park served as gorgeous location as well.

Definitely worth walking through if you get the chance.

“a perfect small bite of history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

there are three former homes on the bit of land adjacent to the Idaho history museum in Julia Davis park (plus the 1921 white clapboard church housing the Black history museum, which is open only on weekends). Placards point out historical and construction facts. One of the three is open with a very good exhibit, some hands on, of the founding of Boise city.
