“Can't beat it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014

Can't say enough about the good food, good people, and great prices at the Bardenay. We've tried to find a place comparable to use as an alternate; but, always find ourselves back. After countless visits over the last decade and trying almost everything on their menu multiple times, we've only had to send an item back to kitchen maybe once or twice at most--can't even remember what year that was!

“Event Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014

My brother and sister-in-law hosted their son's Rehearsal Dinner in Bardenay's Event space, next door to the Pub. There was plenty of room for both large families to mingle and have Happy Hour prior to the buffet dinner. The bar staff was efficient and friendly, the dinner very, very good for so large a group (we had chicken in a lovely sauce with vegetables, mashed potatoes, bread and salad for almost 80 people!) with table seating for all and space for a projector to present a slide show of the bride and groom. At 9pm when the dinner was officially over, friends and extended family joined us from the pub next door where they had been having dinner and drinks, and the service changed to a No Host bar. It was a wonderful evening and achieved that happy balance for what can be an awkward situation between the wedding party/immediate family and friends/extended family. We had been to Bardenay's earlier for a late lunch, and even went the day after the wedding just for a drink. I love the historic building, the Pub menu is quite good, and the service is friendly and efficient!

“Great food and a great price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

I love to join friends at Bardenay. The first distillery pub in the U.S. Bardenay makes its own gin and vodka on site. The food is some of the best bar food I have ever had. If you like salmon, the grilled salmon is always perfect. Their sandwiches are very good. They always have a chorizo bean soup that is excellent. The bar is a happening place for lunch and dinner. Business people have lunch here and at night the young and restless take over. It is located in the Basque Block and has patio seating.

“not what I expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

I have been excited to try Bardenay for a long time and then was very disappointed. The appetizer was good, the drink was lovely but my steak entree was not good at all. You would think with the cost and the "specialty" menu that this would be an exceptional entree and it was very disappointing. I would go back and give it a second try…maybe just have drinks and if Im eating try something different.

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

If you are in the mood for pub food, yet want something more than the traditional burger, fries and craft beer... This is the place. The food is great and so is the price. We enjoyed 2 sandwiches, salad, soup, sweet potato & French fries, drink & dessert for $35. The vibe is laid back yet still energetic urban loft. The menu selection has a lot of tasty items and a great drink selection. Will defiantly return when back in town!
