If you are tired of burgers and fries, or if you would like to impress your date, try Mai Thai. The restaurant serves traditional Thai food in a serene setting with bizarre lighting, buddhist statues, live bamboo and a table fountain with candles and floating flowers. This place is quiet and therefore probably not good for families with young children.
I have been there several times, and have found the food, service and price to be consistently excellent. If this is your first time trying Thai food, the menu clearly indicates what you can expect from each dish, but there are no American food bail-out menu options (like burgers or chicken fingers) so be prepared to try something new and different. Also, I've found that the desserts are over-priced an gimmicky, so it would be best to avoid them (unless you want to eat charred, flaming wontons with smoking green tea ice cream).
