This was our first time of eating at this establishment, and it will be the last. The location was ideal, for those that like to bike, float the Boise River, it's near Barber Park. I would have been very tempted to give this rating a poor, but I found myself not needing to be so harsh.
It took at least 5-10 min. for the young girl to take our order. My husband and I both just ordered sandwiches. The guy ahead of us ask the girl, if the mushrooms were cooked or raw, she said that she didn't have a clue, so she had to go and ask the cook? Poor training, in my book. If an owner of a restaurant wants to have good employees, they need proper training, inform the person, that they are ambassodoors (sp) of the business, educate them on what each item of the munu is. After 30 min. we finally got our cold sandwiches. I don't have any idea why it would have taken that long to get two cold sandwiches. There were less than four people in the building. I thought that $8.00 for a cold sandwich was just a little pricey for what we didn't get. I have had a better $5.00 sub at Subway. In my opinion they could have added a little bit more meat the sandwich, and it would have really enhanced to flavor big time, if they placed in the over for a few minutes, to at least toast the bread and melt the cheese.
We ate outside, and the surroundings were okay. I will say that there were more flies inside the building than outside. It's hard to say when the last time that the salt and pepper shakers had a good washing, with so much stuck on food. This is one of my pet peeves. And I have experienced this nasty, disgusting, experience time after time, in all sorts of restaurants. How hard is it to wipe the salt/pepper shakers, menus, and everything else that is on the table, when the waitperson is washing off the table? And, here is the kicker! Watch to see if the seats are wiped down first, then the table top. I always order extra napkins, so that my tableware isn't sitting on a unsanitary table.
The waitress never did come and see how our order was, or if we would like a refill on our drinks:( I agree with a previous post, it's a bunch of kids that are working here, and there isn't anything wrong with that, I am very proud that they are there. But the attire leaves something to be desired. I am not fond of shorts, that are so short that the pockets are hanging out of the cutoffs.
Just saying.......if I were in any sort of business today. Customer service would be my number one priority. As a consumer, that is what I am looking for, when I enter your establishment. If I don't get the impression that I am a valued customer, then I won't be back. Sorry, that's the bottom line.
I don't wish this place any ill will, but listen to the customers:)
