“Rafting is a family affair”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

Went rafting on the river in August of 2012. It was SO much fun!!! We were one of the first groups to go and rented a raft to use. It was not very crowded. Our ages ranged from 30 years to 70 years and fun was had by all. We had great views of Boise's beautiful landscape. There were a few tiny "rapids" that had us all laughing and bouncing in the raft. The employees at the raft building were very helpful.

The Greenbelt is a wonderful place to walk, bike, enjoy the river flowing through downtown or have a picnic on the banks!

“20+ miles of beauty & calm in an urban center”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

Walk or bike along this snake-like park on the Boise River and stop for a swim or food/drink in a number of cafes/hotels along the way. Or just enjoy the peaceful calm of this forward thinking use of the river.

“A trail through the center of the City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

This trail parallels the Boise River and goes for miles. It's a great place to walk or ride a bike. It goes past Boise State and the Boise zoo, the Boise library, the new whitewater park, and a number of restaurants. There are some winery tasting rooms and some brewpubs not too far off the trail but it would be best to have a bike to get to them. Some parts of the trail are a bit narrow and may seem uncomfortable to those on foot with bikes passing you.

“Great outdoors in the middle of town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

There are bike paths - Boise's a bike friendly town - and white water rapids to test yourself against.

If that's too challenging, you can run, kayak or do stand-up paddling.

It's a social space and the locals use it well.
