Description: Have visited many times over the past two years and always find the hospitality and food to be of a very high standard. The food is wonderfully prepared and presented using fresh local ingredients. There is a well stocked bar and the the owners are friendly and will go out of their way to ensure that you enjoy your visit - the very best gastro-pub in the region!

“A warm welsh welcome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013 via mobile

We visit for the steaks and they never disappoint, but the general ambience and welcome of this - very welsh - public house makes us go back frequently.

Good beer, good food, good welcome.

“Amazing food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013

Went as a last minute decision with friends. I had the Cajun Chicken which was really tasty and had lovely flavour, one of my friends had the Venison Stew which was also fantastic just broke into pieces in your mouth. Good sized portions at a fair price and quick service by friendly staff. Top class! Highly recommended!

“Mediocre meal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

We'd heard good things about this restaurant, and were looking forward to our meal. We arrived reasonably early, there were only a few others eating when we arrived, but yet our starter took ages to arrive. With a young child in tow, who was getting increasingly hungry this wasn't ideal. The main course again took ages after the starter had come. The food was nice enough, but nothing to write home about and I would have expected slightly better for the price. I wouldn't rule out giving the place another try some time just to see if we hit it on an off night but wasn't impressed. We don't get out for dinner very often at all so feel a rare opportunity was wasted on a not so great meal

“Sunday lunch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013 via mobile

Came here for Sunday lunch, both our meals were satisfactory but overpriced. Yorkshire pudding served with the beef but not with other meats which seems to be the norm in most places now. Portions of meat were good but the veg was served in a tiny one portion dish the size of about four egg cups, this contained red cabbage, mange tout, new potatoes and carrots so not much of any of them. Cannot think of anything to make us return. Building has lovely charm and beer garden plus play ground.

“Good food and lots of character”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

This is a great little pub that offers a warm welcome and good food. Plenty of parking available and seats outside if the weather is good.
