“Zip Line Fun for All Ages”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2011

I went over to try the Zip Line Course with my college-aged son, and we had a wonderful time. The zip line can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It's a great "high" adventure for teens/college-aged kids and their parents. We got there at noon and did the first two courses in about 4-1/2 hours. Next time we will go earlier in the day, do two courses, take a break and then do one or two more. Since it's only about two hours from our home it makes a great trip to do in one day. The guides were extremely helpful, kind, courteous, knowledgable, etc. Cannot say enough nice things about them. This is a great family place! In comparing this zip line course with others in the southeast, I believe it is the best as far as pricing and different courses. Would give it a five-star rating.

The cabin was amazing; very quiet, clean and comfy. It was a three bedroom and two bathroom. we all had our privacy. A nice trail led us to the main lodge or we could drive. There were closer cabins to choose but this was what we wanted. We were in a gated area and felt safe.

The food was wonderful and everyone was friendly. The breakfast buffet was ubelievable!! We even ate lunch with Craig and Morgan. That was awesome that they wanted to stay with us and not get a little free time on their own. Even the view at meal times was INCREDIBLE.

We experienced the ALL DAY ADRENALINE RUSH and we were not disappointed. RARELY does a property or experience meet the expectations set forth in the brochure or website. Historic Banning Mills exceeded. Especially comforting was the fact that Mr Holder was always close by---literally under as we on the zipline:) watching over everyone. This was one of the most incredible experiences ever.

Morgan and Craig were our guides and they were amazing. I was scared to death and they were always patient. They were never inappropiate in language or action, which is rare to find these days. I was exhausted at the end of the day, but I felt so accomplished. I had conquered my fears---I did it anyway---and the guides made us feel so good about what we had done. We were truly treated VERY well by ALL staff.

The beauty and history the surrounds you at Historic Banning Mills cannot be duplicated. There is something for everyone. If you just wat to test our the ziplines there is a package for you. If you want the full experience---The RUSH is for you. If you just want to rest and relax---you have found the place.

The gift shop has things you might have forgotten....like a toothbrush. Also t-shirts, specialty Jams(inclusing sugar-free), ciders, locally made artisian crafts, etc. There is so much there we did not have time to experience it all. The Spa, Pool--looked great--(there were three pools), Waterfall, Mill Ruins, Kayaks, paddle boats, more trails, etc.

I truly cannot not say enough WONDERFUL things about Bannig Mills!!! Thanks for a get-a-way we will NEVER forget!!!!!

We loved our stay at the Historic Banning Mills Lodge. The food was great and the cabins perfect. They were a little rustic, but we were looking for this type of vacation. The zip line tours are wonderful as well as the whole area. We are going back to stay longer. It was fantastic!! We were sorry to leave.

My husband and I were looking for a weekend getaway that had things to do. This was the place to go!!! We did zipline tours #1 & #2 on Saturday. We saw beautiful secenery and felt safe the whole time we were on the courses. The guys that led the group were great (thank you Tyler D & crew) and were very helpful when completing the courses.

There are not any restaurants nearby. When we asked if we could be accomodated for dinner, they were able to comply. Dinner was well worth $55 for two. We had the lemon pepper tilipia with shrimp. It also came with salad, bread, fruit/cheese plate, entree and dessert (marble cake cubed pieces in a glass with chocolate syrup, straberries and whipped cream). Breakfast came with our room package and was very good--traditional scrambled eggs, meat, grits, fruit buffet.

The grounds are very scenic as we took a stroll after dinner. We took some great pictures with the rapids in the background.

They also offer free DVD movie check outs. We found out the next morning they offer DVD check out after we had watched a movie on our laptop.

We enjoyed staying in the cabin. It was very peaceful sitting in the rocking chairs on the back porch. We slept with the sliding glass door open and screen shut and fell asleep to the moving water and the chirping of the crickets.

They have a lot of things to do such as horseback riding, kayaking, volleyball, tennis, swimming, horseshoes, and spa services. There is enough for you to do and not be bored.

The staff were wonderful and made the weekend getaway perfect.

We plan on attending again with our son.

Room Tip: Book ahead and make sure you also include dinner

Some friends of mine came up from New Orleans to do the Screaming Eagle zip line tour. We had a great time; however, one guy could not make it and now I have a $149 gift certificate that expires 10/15/11. I am willing to sell for $129. contact me @ pjvbmxliv@yahoo.com if interested.

The zip line tour is really fun! Between the zip lines are bridges to cross which are challenging. The guides are friendly, informative and very safety oriented so you can relax and have fun.

The scenery along the creek is beautiful and the trails are great to walk on. Saw the wild bird show which is held occassionally and well worth it.

There is not a restaurant open all the time but food can be ordered if you're staying overnight and was very good.

Stayed in a jaccuzi room and it was fine - don't expect 5-star but remember this is rustic.
