We stopped for lunch at Mahogany Inn and I was very disappointed by the changes that have taken place. The beautiful historic building is gone, being replaced by a modern upmarket venue. There are a few stone walls left but none of the atmosphere of the old inn remains. The staff were friendly and attentive, perhaps too much, as our conversation was interrupted numerous times and I find it very unprofessional for staff to constantly call the patrons 'love' and 'darl'.
I was only after a small lunch and the menu didn't have many options for this. I ordered the soup and was told by the waitress that it was a small serve, as it came with bread I assumed it would be fine. For $14 I received a very small bowl of soup and 2 small wafer thin pieces of bread. The soup was nice but was lukewarm.
My husband ordered the gourmet pie and was equally disappointed, not only with the size and price but the quality as well. The meat was tough and the pie contained mostly a runny liquid. This was $25.
We were not happy with the food or price and will not bother to eat there again.
