Barbara & Tom made us feel very welcomed. Everything was so much more wonderful than we expected. The breakfasts were more than delicious and elegantly presented.
We travel quite a bit and never experienced this kind of hospitality or such exceptional food and presentations.
We HIGHLY recommend this fabulous, beautiful and gracious home to everyone!

My wife, sister, brother-in-law and I spent the first night of our vacation (a return to my sister’s and my Southern roots) at the Washington Plantation. We were headed from ATL to Charleston and thought this would be a nice stop on the way (it was). Tom and Barbara are wonderful, as are the accommodations. And who can say enough about breakfast and those cheese-grits with shrimp! They recommended the Jockey Club for dinner and it too was enjoyable. And of course, there was Ms. Fanny who scooped us up from the restaurant and took us across the street to celebrate a complete stranger's birthday. All-in-all this was a great start to our trip.

Travel back in time!
Is it possible? Absolutely!
My husband had planned a surprise trip for me to spend some lone time before his deployment. I did not know where he would take me and what a surprise when we pulled in to the little driveway up to Washington Plantation.
I have to admit I cried when I saw the place. I was overwhelmed it was what I had always dreamed off.
I love American history and that is exactly what I found at the Plantation and the surrounding area a big huge chunk of it including a host that made it living history. We stayed in the Planters room what a treat! Barbara and Tom put so much in to this Plantation that I took one hour to get it on film. We were treated to wine and cheese on the veranda in the evening and Tom and Barbara shared the town’s history with us (which is extremely impressive I did not know what a huge role Washington had before that evening), this triggered us to dig in a little deeper the next day and we visited every site the town had to offer the next two days, but not until after feasting on a 10 star (if there where that many they would get them) breakfast.

Thank you Tom and Barbara for treating us like family and making this stay unforgettable.

I can highly recommend this B&B and hope that many will visit here; we already have planned to come back many more times to celebrate our anniversaries in the future.

Wow, Wow, Wow!! This B&B is fantastic. We had never been to one before, so we were unsure of what to expect. What we received was fantastic for the price. We had wine and cheese on the veranda, a fruit and chocolate basket in our room, and a scrumptious breakfast in the morning. We are now addicted to the B&B and just love Tom and Barbara.

“A City Escape”

My boyfriend and I were able to escape Atlanta for a one-night stay at Washington Plantation - and were pleasantly surprised at just how wonderful and beautiful Tom and Barbara's home is. We had definitely expected a nice getaway, but the host's attention to detail, extremely comfortable bedroom (Katie's room), and delicious breakfast made our city escape more meaningful than we could have ever imagined. We both recommend this to couples looking for a romantic, charming escape from the stress of daily life. In addition, we ventured into town (a short, pleasant 10-minute walk from the plantation) and discovered a wonderful place to eat lunch while watching small-town life unfold in front of us. Upon returning to the plantation home, we chatted with Tom and Barbara for a few hours over wine and cheese - and it was such an enjoyable experience! We hope to return soon...and with friends!
