We immediately felt welcome at our first visit to the Washington Plantation Bed & Breakfast. Our room was absolutely beautiful, charming, yet so relaxing. The whole Bed & Breakfast experience makes us only want to go there. Tom and Barbara were such gracious hosts and made us feel so welcome and comfortable. We enjoyed the time of wine and cheese and getting to hear stories of how they got the home. Every need was met, above and beyond. Even woke up to fresh orange juice and banana nut bread outside our door. Then came the main course breakfast of a delicious fresh fruit cup, sausage cheese grits with homemade biscuits and to top it off, a belguim waffle with fresh blueberries, maple syrup, bacon and sausage. Even the plate was imbelished with fruit designs cut outs to include a duck with an umbrella, since it was lightly raining outside. The elegance of the Irish crystal and china made it so special, but the stay was so relaxing and had a down home feel to it with superior hospitality. We highly recommend a stay at the Washington Plantation. We will be back again!

My wife and I had a quick getaway for our anniversary at the plantation. Tom and Barbara were great hosts. The property is lovely and a wonderful place to relax and get away from it all. We stayed in the Planter's room, which was very impressive, but any of the rooms are lovely.
We enjoyed chatting with our host's over wine and cheese and learning a bit about the property. We had dinner out, but Barbara's breakfast was amazing-- the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Her cheese grits put native southern chefs to shame.
Washington is a quaint little town between Athens and Augusta. It was close enough to both cities to work in site seeing trips. The town itself is worth a tour, although we were there on a Sunday/Monday and most of the local businesses are closed. There are only a few restaurants in the area, so I'd recommend you enjoy Tom and Barbara's wonderful cooking.
We would like to thank Tom and Barbara for a wonderful stay at their bed and breakfast and truely southern hospitality.
Washington Plantation was our first experience at a bed and breakfast. If you have never stayed at a B&B, we would highly suggest paying Tom and Barbara a visit. But then, you're going to expect the best from there on out.
From the first moment we arrived, to the great people we met, to the amazing room, you will not go wrong booking a stay at Washington Plantation.

p.s. try the bathtub in the Planter's room - you won't want to get out!
Having traveled extensively in both the US and Europe, and taking everything into account - this is WITHOUT DOUBT the best place I have ever stayed in!
The location is great (a leisurely and pleasant 5-7 minute walk into town), the hosts (Tom and Barbara) are the nicest, most welcoming, down-to-earth people you could ever meet, the house/rooms are perfect for the location, and the breakfast is to die for!!
If you are going to Washington, Georgia, or any of the other small towns in that area - this is the place to stay.
You will never stay in a friendlier place!
Thank you Tom and Barbara for a really GREAT weekend.
