“Great food-good prices.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

Owen's is a family style, old fashioned comfort food restaurant. Please don't go if you are on a diet-it's filling and will surely exceed your calorie count!

“Super place to go!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

Has to be the best cooking in town and the staff are fantastic! Loved the fried chicken and veggies. Have to save room for dessert!

“I am back at Grandma's house”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

Want a down home atmosphere for incredible down home food? Owen's Boarding House in Warner Robins, GA is the place to go. Found off Watson Blvd, just outside the gate to Robins AFB in a small industrial area sits a building which looks like it might have come from the 1930's. According to legend, it is the boarding house from the old train depot where crews changed trains and were "boarded". What ever the legen used to be, the current fact is Owen's Boarding House provides the closest I have experienced to being back at my Grandmother's home in SW Arkansas where the meal came from going out and getting a fresh chicken and was fried up in Crisco to the most tender, delicious fried chicken you can imagine. The meals change very little (sometimes adding beef or meatloaf or liver or ham) with chicken being served home style on long tables. You will get close to others who pack the dining area every day. Add the cabbage, green beans, black eyed peas, mac & cheese, greens and all the other veggies and you can smell and taste what I smelled and tasted as a child 50 years ago. You will not go away hungry from this place. And for dessert? How about Banana Cream pudding or peach cobbler. The smell alone will add 300 calories to your lunch. Just be sure to duck going through the front door. If you can't find it, ask anyone. They all know Owens is the place for lunch.

“Great home cookin!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012 via mobile

This place is small, and what they serve is what you get, but boy oh boy is it good!! Fried chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, biscuits, greens, pork, peach cobbler (what else in Georgia), and the list just keeps going. It's family style, which I love, so you sit next to strangers and get friendly real quick because you keep asking "can you pass the.....please?" the seating is limited so if you have a large party (more than 4), don't expect to be seated together unless you want to wait a while. Turnover is really fast here though, and the food keeps coming until they're out, so GET HERE EARLY! Price was pretty good for all you can eat $8-$9, but comes with tea and dessert and trust me you will not leave hungry. This is a Not-for-profit though, so atleast it's going to a good cause. Mostly to keep the place afloat. Hard to find though, and there's no sign. Across base's Watson exit, take first right across train tracks (out of base), then second left. Look for the white house on your right with blue roof. Looks like nothing special, but then why is the parking lot always overflowing?

“Must be friends with the Health Inspector”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

This place is the most unsanitary "restaurant" I've ever been to. Beside that, the staff is unfriendly and the food isn't that great. I'd pass on a visit and find somewhere else for lunch.
