“Very Relaxing but nothing to do”

Fairfield Plantation

We stayed at this resort spring break ( mistake #1). We were looking for a comfortable relaxing getaway with no crowds. That's what we got for the most part but it was alittle to quiet. There was absolutely nothing to do at this resort. The beach was almost non existant; the pool and recreation center were closed. I felt like we were invading on a private community instead of enjoying a resort. As the resort is located in the middle of a community. We had to drive >45 minutes to Atlanta or surrounding to get any form of entertainment. We went to Stone Mountain Park, MLK Civil Rights Musuem, Shopping and Six Flags. The resort itself has a very relaxing country type theme. I did enjoy the screened porch and lakes. The villa was clean, very large and had all the ammenities you would need. I guess it would be a good place to go with out small kids but we would not be going back.

I'm a fairfield/Wyndam Owner. I had heard some negative things from other websites so i didn't know what to expect. But hey i enjoyed myself and would go back again. We went to Alabama which is 24 miles away and toured the race track it was great. The food was great to if you like mexican food try La salsa mexcian res. it's near arbor mall man it's worth the trip about 8 miles from the resort..It must be new because i could'nt find it on my gps. Also Try Shanes barbque it's really good. It's real quiet there you could hear a pin drop. After coming from the metro d.c area that was a relief. The people at villa rica are very friendly like all country people are. That's here i'm from the country so i fit right in..Need to say again and again i love this place and would go back today if i could..

Very nice 2 bedroom unit (clean/spacious/beautifully furnished) with screened in porch with a beautiful lake front view. Resort located within a residential area amongst some beautiful homes. I enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching people enjoying the lake fishing, speed boating, swimming...).

A car is a must. Resort is about 55 miles from the airport and about 65 miles from downtown Atlanta. Rush hour(s) is no fun. Also, the units are about 3 miles from the registration desk and about a mile from the amenities. There is a company that offers an excursion into Atlanta which includes a tour of the Governor’s Mansion and stops for about 4 hours downtown to visit area attractions (Coca Cola, Aquarium, CNN, Olympic Park, MLK Museum/Library...).

Really nice, helpful staff. I woke up one morning with a bad cough and the Guest Service Rep I was scheduled to meet with that day for my update brought me some cold tablets. Another day a maintenance man noticed one of my tires was losing air. He located me, filled the tire with air, located the object that had punctured the tire and spray painted the area for the rental car company.

The master bedroom has a journal for guests to share their experience which I thought was a very quaint idea.

I loved the unit but not the distance from everything. However, if you mainly want to get away to relax in a beautiful environment, the Plantation is the place to go.

I was a little nervous entering the property. It sits a few miles off the main road and check-in is located in a little cottage outside of the security gate. Well, the guest services staff put me at ease. They were wonderful! Seeing that I was traveling alone, they made sure I was in a comfortable location. I wonder if security was asked to check on me -- I saw them and chatted all the time. Needless to say, my whole experience was fantastic.

When I entered the 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit, I noticed the open floor plan with carpeting and hardwood flooring. The kitchen was very nice with colorful cook- and dinnerware. The functional kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. I ate breakfast many days on the screened-in verandah. The view was truly breathtaking. My master bedroom and living room looked out onto Lake Tara. To wake up every morning with a view of the lake and go to bed every night looking at the stars was fabulous! I didn’t want to leave my unit. Nice décor throughout.

Fairfield Plantation appears to be a mixture of timeshare property and private residences. Everyone shares the amenities, but that didn’t seem to be a problem.

The only downfall was that I had to drive near the check-in area to get a cell phone signal. There were telephones in the unit, but I elected to make long distance calls with my cell.

This resort caters to a variety of travelers. I saw elderly couples, families with young children, young couples – it is just a warm, welcoming place. Highly recommended!!
