We had driven past this place a few times, and when we finally tried it out, it was immediately obvious that Mom and Dad's is one of the busier 'real' restaurants in Valdosta. It's a bit out of the way as far as the town centre is concerned, but it's worth the effort. There is a good resemblance to Italian cuisine (too often, anything with parmesan is labelled 'Italian'), although personally, I had some difficulty finding a truly tempting entrée on the menu. Even so, the selection of seafood and pasta dishes is reasonable, and the wine list includes a good range of wines by the glass, dominated by local Georgia varieties. It's cosy without being tremendously smart (the cutlery is a little flimsy), but best of all for a touch of romance, even though there is plentiful seating, our table still felt 'private'.
