The Tybee B&B is just a lovely inn to stay on your next visit to Tybee Island. When we were there the Inn had won the prestigious "Garden of the Month" award, and i totally see why. Huge trees cover the front yard providing lovely shade, plenty of trees, shrubs and flowers everywhere. There are so many little nooks and crannies to sit and relax in from the huge front porch to the gazebo, to the back porch and various tables sprawled in the front.
We stayed in the Dolphin room which was very spacious and had a small private deck. It was very clean and comfortable thanks to the A/C. The breakfasts were delicious and i loved how everytime you went into the kitchen, no matter what time of day, there was always some sort of baked good sitting on the counter waiting for you. We were also invited to help ourselves to the ice cream and various toppings as well. I totally felt like we were just visiting someone's home - it was that personal. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

“Veteran B&B Travelers: Stay Here!”

Tybee Island Inn

We have enjoyed B&B stays in the U.S. (both east and west coasts, and Great Lakes regions) and in Canada, but this was the best overall experience of the bunch! Our hosts, Lloyd and Cathy, were very knowledgeable and most gracious, and their attention to even the smallest details made us feel instantly welcome.
We traveled specifically to tour Savannah and to enjoy a dinner at Paula Deen's Restaurant, which we did; but the advantage of touring and having access to the beach and island amenities made the Tybee Island in a refreshing and fortuitous choice. Imagine our surprise when we realized that our room selection (The Mermaid Room) was featured in Paula Deen's Magaine along with a great review of the Inn!
The Inn is neatly tucked away amid live oaks covered with Spanish Moss and palmettos, with a welcoming garden area surrounding the house (they have a wonderful, award winning gardener), and outside porches that shout: "Come and visit here for a while!"
Our room was clean and comfotable, with a private porch that saw us there a lot.
Celeste, the resident chef (We love ya, baby!) provided original and delicious breakfasts and there was always a surprise in the pantry area when we returned in the evening after a tough day of touring. Lloyd also stocked the fridge with plenty of "help yourself" ice cream and topping selections, just in case......
Our hosts were also most helpful with recommendations for local restaurants, and the seafood there was excellent.
We were traveling for fun, and we got more than we bargained for. After checking the available accommodations in Savannah and on Tybee Island remotely via the internet, we took an educated chance and selected this wonderful little place. And after seeing some of the other selections first hand once we got there, we were sure glad that we chose what we did. The price was a bit higher, but considering the excellent breakfast and evening snacks, that alone brings pricing for value into line.
But the overarching value for us was feeling like family visiting distant cousins. We enjoyed privacy when we wanted, and warm conversation at just the right times.
If you select another location than the Tybee Island Inn, you will flat be missing out!

This is my first B&B and it was wonderful they have set the bar VERY
HIGH, and I will be back to stay at this inn again, the pics do not do it
justice when you walk into the front yard and onto the porch you just want to
sit down and listen to the fountain and birds for hours on the biggest
swing I have ever seen. We stayed in the LIght house room and it was MUCH
bigger than the pics on the net look like. The staff was simply delightfull
and very very nice, the 3 dogs and one bird were a nice touch to make it
seem just like I was at home. I will be back to this B&B if it is the last
thing I do.

Kathy & Lloyd run a fabulous B&B! Our wedding took place on the front porch under a Live Oak covered in draping Spanish Moss. It does get much more romantic than that! The honeymoon suite (The Lighthouse Room) is tastefully decorated, very romantic, and private. They were very accomodating to our family members that attended the ceremony, even the ones that were not staying at the inn. The flowers, the cake, the champagne, the decorations - all top notch. Thank you so much for making our wedding day special!

Tybee Island Inn is what you look for when searching for a B&B.The owners,Floyd and Cathy, make you feel instantly at home. They show you the courtesy and comfortability of being in a home away from home.No single item is overlooked. The rooms are as advertised, the daily breakfast is flavorful and filling, and the hospitality is unmatched.

Although the weather was uncooperative during our stay, cold cold rain and wind,we knew that coming back to Tybee Island Inn after visiting the island and Savannah each day and evening, was going to be a warm and welcome relief. You want a B&B stay? Tybee Island Inn is just the place.
