Great stay. Loved the large tub in the captains suite. It was our 20th anniversary. Tybee island is a quiet, calm place, 30 min from savannah. Enjoyed both. Everyone is SO friendly and helpful at Tybee island inn. I loved the breakfasts. Soft, romantic music in the background. Very clean, comfortable and quiet. WOuld stay there again

After a tumultuous week, my husband booked a spontaneous night away on Tybee Island. After driving the couple hours to get there from Charleston, we arrived just past 6 pm. The entry to the little house was immaculate. Gorgeous palms, what had to be a 100 year old tree, bubbling fountains, and lush greenery lined the walk. There was a welcome sign on the door addressed specifically to him and I with directions to our room and information on the accommodations. The cottage held the faint smell of cookies, and the warm sea breeze was a welcoming aroma.

We walked to the end of the hall where we stayed in the Savannah Beach room and let ourselves in. The room was quaint and laced with antiquities from furniture to paintings to the original, but re-painted tin ceilings. As it was a one night get-away, there was ample room to store our belongings.

As others had mentioned in reviews on this sight, the room was clean, though not pristine, almost adding to the quaint nature of the cottage. The only complaint I would have here is that the jetted tub, as advertised on the website was just that - a jetted bath tub dating circa 1980. For this, we paid an extra $20 and never found the courage to sit in it, as there was barely room for my 140 lb frame, much less both of us!

We showered, unpacked, and headed out to the lobby to find a local restaurant and directions to the beach. The beach was a short, pleasant stroll, not two blocks down the quiet neighborhood streets, and across a private boardwalk. The night was perfect, the beach a scene from the finest romance novel.

Everything in the cottage was easy to find, and we felt incredibly welcomed. Walking back, through the gorgeous courtyard that adjoined the home, lights were lit in a perfectly muted setting with ample seating to enjoy the crisp breeze. The only complaint I would have here is that Mother Nature reared her ugly side with a small troupe of Palmetto Bugs welcoming us home on the front patio steps! None of these little critters, mind you, managed to make an appearance in the cottage, however.

The night's sleep was perfect. No noises, no ghosts, no complaints!

The next morning, we walked out to the breakfast table to join the other house guests for a delicious pork chop and blueberry cheese strudel. It was admittedly kind of awkward sitting amongst much elder diners, as my husband and I are in our mid to late twenties and shared very little in common with the retired elders. Breakfast was delicious, nonetheless.

All in all, our stay was enjoyable to say the least. The perfect end to a rough week, and relaxation in a quaint cottage so rich with history seemingly melted all stress away.

The Inn's location is great, only a short walk to the beach and the Tybee Island lighthouse as well as a couple of good places to eat. The history behind it's location and previous function at Fort Screven is fascinating. Also, having tour bus shuttle service available for pickup at the Inn was a plus. However, the Inn did not have the charm of those we have stayed in with resident-owners and we were a little disappointed with breakfast as compared to other B&B's we've been to. An upgrade to the mattresses would help as well.

We have been rejuvenated, restored, and revived after our stay on Tybee Island. Lisa and Mary made us feel so relaxed while staying at the Tybee Island Inn. I loved soaking in the huge copper tub in the Captain's Suite. The little kitchen that the inn provided with all the goodies was great! We never saw much of the owners who were listed as the hospitality team, but their staff who are obviously very dedicated did an awesome job! Thanks again Lisa and Mary for making us feel right at home!
