Here's the good stuff: The gardens surrounding the Inn are beautiful and it is a short walk to the beach and other Tybee attractions. Breakfast at the Inn is very good - a spicy kielbasa one morning and to-die-for blueberry, cheese, and egg casserole the other. For the diet-conscious, they also have yogurt and some cereals. There are plenty of places to sit - both inside and out - for breakfast so whether you are a social butterfly or just want to be left alone, they've got you covered.
And the bad: The Mermaid Room is definitely not nice enough for the price. When we arrived, our room was incredibly musty and stuffy. We opened up the windows and would have left them open all night but the air conditioning unit outside of our window was too loud. Our pillowcases and comforter smelled musty as well. The bathroom was not very clean - hair in the sink and tub, toliet bowl had a very obvious ring, shower curtain was mildewed - and the door for the bathroom was still a closet door contrary to a prior report from management. Out on the porch, the first thing we laid eyes on was a plastic cup the someone had used for an ashtray. The cleaning people need a few lessons! The Mermaid Room is also right next to the dining area so everything that is said over breakfast is heard in your room. No sleeping in!
The bad outweighs the good for this Inn and we will not be going back.
